The par-5 6th is one of the best scoring opportunities on the front nine after a few devilish holes. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

The double gree of the par-4s #11 and #13 require a lot of precision and accuracy. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

You can go from birdie opportunity to scrambling for double if you don't repect the approach on the par-4 18th. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

Due to incalcuable elevation change, the par-3 10th is one of the hardest 145-yard holes I've ever played. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/05/2020

Great hidden gem
This is a great course only about 1 1/2 hours out of DC..As it is off the beaten path, not many of my golfing buddies here in the District hve heard about it but I am passing the word now. We love this course.
Great Course - Best in the Area!!
I'm an avid golfer and been playing this course for a few years. It went through a tough period and ownership change a few years ago. I've played the course twice this year and it was in excellent condition! The staff is always kind, courteous, and willing to please!! I played with my son, we really wanted to play as a twosome and not be paired up with anyone, they accommodated us without question. Compared to all other courses in this area, I have this one ranked as the top because of challenge, condition, staff service, and pace of play. I know it's going to be a challenging and fun round every time I'm scheduled to play Blue Ridge Shadows!!
Course keeps improving
Great customer service. Course seems to be bouncing back from years ago. Best value around for the type of course it is. Keep up the good work.
Hot day.
Course was in good shape except for spots on their greens. They are having keeping grass in spots due to the severe slopes. Even with no grass in spots they rolled very well. Very nice views from elevated tee boxes. Fortunately there is shade along the edges of the course to stay cool in extreme heat.
Nice Course
I rode a cart while my husband played. It is a pretty golf course with amazing views. My husband said it was in good condition. They have had a lot of rain and we had to stay on the cart path on three holes but it wasn't a problem all.
Lots of wildlife to see. I took pictures of deer, foxes playing on the side of the fairway.
It's a nice place and my husband said it is a good golf course to play and the price was really good.
We live near D.C and its half the price of courses there. The hotel is nice too.
Poor and rude service
When I arrived I was given a cart and put w another group to play with. When we were about to start our round I was told I had to give my cart back and ride w someone else. I requested to keep my own cart due to possible bad weather coming in the area and that I was not feeling well and prob wouldn’t play all 18 holes . I was denied that request and told that I had to share a cart or not be allowed to play.
The person they were putting me with was sitting on his cart smoking cigarettes which I did not like either .
I tried again and again to get my own cart but the pro shop people were rude and said I had only paid for half a cart !! They said play by our rules or leave.
It almost got physical .
The guy who I was teamed with also said he wanted his own cart but they made us ride together or said leave.
The worse customer service ever!!
Blue Ridge SUCKS
Well kept course
Had a good score 44-36=80 for the 18 holes!! Happy and met dream golfers in my forsome!!
Fun yet challenging
First hole is a downhill dogleg left. Stay right or you are in trouble. Very picturesque, the views are incredible! The greens rolled very consistent with some speed. My favorite hole has to be #14. First ever “S” style fairway to green. With some brush hazard to split the middle and a great approach shot of a small creek. Choose your shots wisely. I can’t wait to play there again!!!
Great course
The course is in great shape. The biggest issue is slow pace of play.
Worth the drive
Drove out to Blue Ridge from D.C. on a Saturday morning, snagged first tee time so pace was not an issue. Greens rooted true and course in great shape despite the huge amount of rain during the past week. Of course an added bonus is the fifty or sixty dollar price difference from playing in the DC area.
Cold and windy
After three holes ,I was ready to quit with the chill and the winds, but persevered and the weather got better...Enjoyed the course by ourselves.
Anxious to play again in better conditions.
Good track
It was a nice course. The back 9 was really fun and well laid out. Greens were a little choppy, but have been punched recently. I can definitely see myself playing there again.
Good Day
Course is in really good condition. might be the condition of any course I've played so far this season. bunkers fluffy. can still see marks on the greens but did not affect putts. fairways are the nicest in the area right now. pace of play was average for a nice Sunday. lot of elevation change and all par 3s over 180 yards. overall definitely recommend this course and hope i can get out there again.
Great Layout
Course is in rather rough condition: greens recently aerated and sanded; and the fairways have not yer recovered from the winter. Bunkers were in excellent condition.
Overall: it was a good value.
Great Value for a Decent course
I’ll make it simple.. you can’t get a deal like this a course as decent as this one .. as we all know how expensive golf fee can be in the D.C metropolitan area. Especially,l a nicer and modern day design course. It’s a little bit of drive (approximately 45 min. from Fairfax, VA), but it’s worth every bit of it. The the layout & course condition is nice, the green fees are awesome and the staffs are always friendly. Don’t hesitate to make a trip out here because you won’t regret it and I am certain of that. ..You won’t go wrong at the Blue Ridge Shadows, folks !
