Great Course for Price
I've played Shoal twice in the past month. It is a beautiful course, challenging and fun to play. It definitely tests your shot making abilities. Only complaint was carts weren't allowed on fairway and some of the staff members were pretty cranky.
Great Course!
Shoal Creek is a very well maintained course in a beautiful area. The course is challenging enough to make it fun, but not too tough where it beats you up. Would recommend for someone willing to spend a decent amount of money on a round!
Shoal Creek Golf Course, Kansas City, MO
This was the first time I played this course visiting from Owasso (Tulsa suburb), OK. My Tee time was at 2:20 p.m. and I got a real good rate hoping to play a round of 18 holes by myself, but it didn't happen. I was teamed with three other players. I requested a golf cart by myself, but I was charged another green fee of $14.00.
The course is well maintained and the golf carts are in good condition with GPS and electronic/paper score cards. The starter did not call my name, so I got to the first Tee box early, and the other players were waiting for me, as the previous Tee time was cancelled.
I recommend playing this course often to be able to manage it and score low.
Absolute Gem
Arizonan in Missouri learned: hit the fairway, stay below the hole putting. Fast, smooth greens, held nicely. Not too may forced carries, but planning and accuracy pay dividends as places you can’t afford to be add up and crash your score. GPS on carts a plus. Play the proper tees for a fun round, I.e. play it forward (maybe) for me, the white tees.
Loved this course, every hole interesting and challenging. A few blind shots caused trouble, I would do better playing it again (and even again).

Beautiful
Beautiful course on a near perfect day. Played with 3 others including a beginner and done if 4 hours, no pressure from behind and only waited on one par 3. Greens were fast but doable. Rough not too penal.

Shoal Creek is well maintained, course looks gorgeous, difficult but not ridiculous.

Challenging but get able. Course was in great shape. Would definitely play again.
Great layout
This course has a great layout with multiple tees to challenge all skill levels. Course was excellent condition.
