Royal Kunia Country Club
About
Royal Kunia Country Club boasts a reputation as one of the best and most scenic golf courses on Oahu. The course is perched high above the Ewa plain, offering panoramic views of the entire South Shore, stretching from Pearl Harbor to the downtown skyline of Honolulu to the famed Diamond Head. The layout rolls across a gently undulating landscape, offering a diverse layout of short par 4s and demanding par 5s. Water comes into play on a few holes and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. Its coastal location guarantees that wind will be a factor in determining your outcome. The signature hole comes exactly midway through the course. Royal Kunia Country Club's par-5 ninth requires three strong shots that avoid the numerous troubles from tee to green including bunkers, trees, water, and of course, wind.

Good view to harbor and Diamond head
Basically the field condition was good and the club was managed well. The employees were kind and quite vital. Overall impression was very good even if i played first time. The view to the sea and the moutain was good.
Excellent layout and condition!
I booked a tee time the night before, arrived and was told I was a single....on a day full of foursomes. I started off playing alone for the first few holes, but because the course was packed, I ended up chatting with the foursome in front, and on the 4th tee I asked if I could join them. They thought it was a good idea, and I played with them the rest of the thoroughly enjoyable round.
The course itself was one of the best if not the best that I have played in Hawaii. The course was interesting as it moves through rolling land. The conditioning was absolutely perfect - the tees were smooth, the fairways cut tight but the ball seemed to sit up, and the greens were firm and holding, and a reasonable speed.
Great day, and other than speed of play, possibly due to Sunday morning, a fantastic day. I would go back, even for the full rate.
Lovely round at Royal Kunia
The first view of the clubhouse and facilities is underwhelming but well worth the visit
Wonderful friendly staff
Great food in the simple but good quality restaurant and the course is in great shape with wonderful views of the island
Great value and well worth the visit
We will be back!

Only issue was the range. I’m not a fan of hitting off mats
What a surprise, I give this course a five star rating all around. Everything from the t-boxes to greens was almost perfect, I hit a lot of greens and hardly left a mark. No ball marks on greens and few divots in fairways. This course has something for every level of golfer. I've played hundreds of courses , myrtle beach, Pinehurst and so on, this course rates up in the top ten percent.
Late weekend play can be slow.
Not pairing up twosomes and siingles makes for a lot of waiting and feeling rushed.
Value to price
Recommend to play for visitors. I played in Hot Deal, which was great value to the price. No prob with the course condition to play fun.
Find better deal.
Course over looks the ocean! You can see diamond head
Beautiful back drop! Lots of sand traps! But nice course overall.
It's almost there!
The staff was very friendly, the views were great of the harbor (on a clear day,)and the course was challenging. The range was ok and could use a little attention. it's a little over a 30 minute drive from Waikiki I played on a Monday evening so the pace of play was great.I got there very early and they let me tee off early as well. After playing a few other courses this week I would say for the money they charge visitors this is one of the better courses. It could use just a little more care with grass cutting but overall it's in pretty good shape. Fairways are good and the greens are fast.
Enjoyable round
We saw this course available on GolfNow and decided to check it out while on vacation in Oahu. Glad we did since it was very enjoyable. Had a hot deal that made it even more fun. Some great views of Pearl Harbor in a nice neighborhood. Would recommend especially at the hot deal!
No carts so late start led to playing only 12 holes
I had a tee time for 2:30, but when we showed up, there was a huge delay because the course did not have enough working golf carts. We did not tee off until well after 3:00, and then at 6:00, we were told to play one more hole, and return the carts, even though it stays light enough to play for almost an hour longer.
Average course
This was an okay day. Expect better conditions, but quite muddy. Pace of play was very slow. We waited on every hole. The people in front of us had no golf etiquette and no marshall to be seen. I don't know that we would return because of pace of play. We played in about 5 hours. Beautiful views of Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor from course. Some good golf holes.
West Oahu's Choice Course
This is where you want to play if you are headed west on Oahu. Near Ewa Beach, it is just north of H-1 in a fairly new upscale neighborhood. While the clubhouse is quite modest, the course is what you wish a Hawaiian golf experience to provide. Beautiful views from every tee, interesting hole design and variety, nice greens with fair slopes, lots of sand traps, all well groomed, and a pretty wide open layout make for enjoyable play.
The folks in the pro shop were most welcoming and the starter very accommodating. A friendly, unpretentious atmosphere sets the mood for a great round. You should love it.
Hidden Gem
Amazingly good course for this price range. Reasonably short from white tees but still a challenge. Elevation changes and tricky greens produce an enjoyable, challenging game.
The fairways and greens are in great condition. A very nice course to play.
