Royal Kunia Country Club

About
Royal Kunia Country Club boasts a reputation as one of the best and most scenic golf courses on Oahu. The course is perched high above the Ewa plain, offering panoramic views of the entire South Shore, stretching from Pearl Harbor to the downtown skyline of Honolulu to the famed Diamond Head. The layout rolls across a gently undulating landscape, offering a diverse layout of short par 4s and demanding par 5s. Water comes into play on a few holes and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. Its coastal location guarantees that wind will be a factor in determining your outcome. The signature hole comes exactly midway through the course. Royal Kunia Country Club's par-5 ninth requires three strong shots that avoid the numerous troubles from tee to green including bunkers, trees, water, and of course, wind.

Royal Kunia
Very enjoyable and fun course to play. Definitely will try and play again. Conditions were very good. Greens were a little hairy but the ball rolled well. Pace of play was slow (5hours) but was expected teeing off around noon.
Ridiculously slow, but pretty
Beautiful course, great condition. Ridiculously SLOW! Line ups of twosomes, even a fivesome; NOT A MARSHALL TO BE FOUND. A 5.5hr round. Zero rhythm, waaaaay too slow
Visiting Hawaii
My son and I had a great time, we enjoyed great course play, awesome scenic views and relaxing time overall. Will definitely be playing here again when we return.
Course appeared overbooked, with many groups of 6
Sometimes 3 groups waiting at a t box
Painfully Slow
Five somes were allowed pace of play painfully slow!!!!!!
A gem of a golf course
A gem of a golf course with fantastic views framed with wonderfully landscaped fairways and greens.
A Good Course
This is a nice course. In pretty good shape, and has a few dramatic holes. Some undulations make the course interesting. If you can get it for under $100 like I did, it is worth it.
Fun afternoon at Royal Kunia
Loved the course—excellent, fair.layout. Only played 9 holes due to a back issue. Asked for a “rain check” to return and play the second 9 another time. The response in the golf office was a firm “no” with no further discussion. Disappointed, but still recommend this course to others.
Too Slow Play
TeeOff was 2:30pm, but finished the first 9 holes at 5:30 pm. Wait, wait and wait. Tooooo Slow. Could only finish the last 9 holes up to 13.
weekday golf
Beautiful course in great condition but you have to play this course before noon. Played at 1:50 and only finished 12 holes. They sent us out on the back and by the time we got to 3 there was 3-4 groups on the hole with no gaps and at least 2 group per hole. We had no chance to finish and we had to turn the carts in by 6 and we’d already waited 45 minutes at the tee box so we left.
Good course lots of people great views lots of water and bunkers small pro shop and cokes were $3.50
Total lack of Course management
3.5 HOURS TO PLAY 9 I never write reviews for anything as I truly believe no one cares enough to listen to their customers and make changes. This is a great course, great looking holes in a great location. But the lack of basic course management makes this a terrible experience The starter only checks your receipt and allocates you a cart. There is no one managing what is happening on the first tee. So people were playing in pairs, singles and there were 2 groups of five players ahead of me. So of course very very slow play. On the first par 3 there were 6 groups waiting at the tee box. I went to club house when finished the front 9 to tell them about the slow play. They couldn’t care less. This is clear case of overselling tee times to tourists who they know will not be returning. Shame on you. Definitely NOT a good example of friendly welcoming Hawaii. Very disappointed and angry about the experience. I asked for a refund guess what
