Great design and in improving condition
A nice course that is more like a course built in the earlier days of golf. Well thought out with a variety of shots required. Not overly long. Has great potential if new owners spend a little money on it. If you hit it a mile it is probably not the course for you, but is a very playable course for seniors.
most improved course around
I've played this course off and on for years but never seen it in this good a condition. Great job and thanks for your efforts.
Wide open with alot of elevation changes.
This course is very long from the blues. No water, but makes up for it with multiple sand bunkers. Course wasn't in very good shape for the last couple of years, but the good news is...the new super is doing an excellent job getting the course in the best shape it's been in years. Been playing it often recently and never crowded. We need to get the word out to give this course a try because they are working very hard to get this course in shape and it shows. If you are a long bomber you will love the blue tees. Has 4 different tee boxes for all levels of play which makes it fair for the scratch to the high handicap. Also very reasonable rates.
I imagine this was a really nice course at one time.
The course was really nice to play and my friend and I enjoyed it. The greens had been over seeded recently and weren't yet cut but they'll probably be real nice in a week or two. The fairways were not in the best of shape but playable. I do hope they keep up the maintenance and get this course back in shape. I'll go back and play it again in a week or two to see how the greens are. Great value through GolfNow. We played our 18 hole round in 2 1/2 hours, excellent for two players.
Nice layout
This is the first time that I have played this course. One can tell they are making efforts to improve course conditions. I enjoyed the front nine that I played.
Great lay out needs some TLC
Played late morning, the course is a challenging Raymond Floyd layout . The greens were good not great but overall the course needs a lot of TLC, but for 15 dollars it was not a bad deal.
Clbhouse? snacks?
Needs a ranger to keep the game flowing .stopped playing after 11 it was so backed up!
Great value
Course overall good shape, greens had some sand but well worth the price paid.Would recommend to friends.
Nice layout
Thanks to the rains this summer the course was in good condition back in April back side was almost unplayable. condition has greatly improved and work is still going on. Cousre is demanding but fun
The course is not bad, but some of the facilities need updating!
In general, the course if relatively easy to play as there are no ponds or lakes, a few sandtraps but very fair fairways with little danger off the fairways! The clubhouse definitely needs updating, if not a new one! Probably a little below average, but playable. Only saw one green, maybe two that needed a small amount of work to repair some bad spots. But the greens rolled true.
Interesting course not in great condition.
Even after a wet summer there is little grass on the fairways and tees. Layout of the course was designed by Ray Floyd and although mainly flat he has made good use of the land. In general the course is just short of care and attention. Green speed was slow/average and several of the greens had large areas where the surface had been lost. Overall we enjoyed the round and pace of play was good.
Nice and easy
My wife and I come to Florida once a year to play golf.
We play a different course almost every day, and traditionally the Oaks is one of them.
Over the last few years we have seen the course deteriorate to an almost unacceptable level.
To our surprise this time it seems that there is a new wind blowing. The course is not quite pristine yet, but it is certainly in a lot better shape then it was last year. Also we did see at least 5 people working on the course, which is more then I ever saw before. The first 9 are fairly easy, the back 9 is more interesting (no houses along the fairways) and more difficult.
Right now this course is already very well worth the money. If the management keeps up the good work, this course will be a real gem.
Great condition. Best ive seen in a while.
My timing was perfect. Nobody playing! Two of us played 18 holes in 2.5 hours. Course was in great condition. Great fairways and greens. A good value.
Nice open course
The course was in good shape. Some trees down along the edges from summer storms, but other than that very good condition. a couple greens were under repair. It's a fun course!
Fantastic value for money.
The front nine is good, but the back nine has some of the most attractive, interesting holes in the Bay Area. Our foursome truly enjoyed our round. This course is coming back into form very nicely. We'll be back.....................................
Worst course
Worst course in Tampa Bay Area, played 6 hes and went and got a refund it was so horrible. The course had sprinklers on, no fairways or rough, both looked the same. The parts of the rough that were not connected to the fairway were sandy or a patches of grass, the place was just a distaster
The greens were terrible.
Besides the greens being in bad shape the corse itself is not maintained we'll. they also start folks on both the front and back holes.
Interesting layout but course needs work
This course course is good if you are looking for a fun round with friends. The course was in need of repairs, especially the greens, but the course was making an effort to correct the problem which I though was great.
Pleasantly surprised
Good course, we had a good time. I would play here again if we are ever back in town.
Long, challenging and interesting layout. Unfortuanately the greens are in terrible shape. And the fairways aren't much better. Not a busy course.
I like this course but it is not being maintained . It's a fun course to come and get your swings, But the greens are in terrible shape. Fairways are thin on grass. Rough is "rough."
