Silverthorn Country Club

About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Always a pleasure to play here. not to busy this time of the year. course is in good shape
greens make it worth playing
the greens are best shape, t boxes and fairways need work
Meh
Sand and dirt everywhere in the common hit areas of the fairways, tee boxes, and some of the greens. I got the tee time as a hot deal, which is the only reason I give it an overall of 3 stars. Otherwise, there’s no way I’d pay the regular price for this course.
They should be embarrassed
Nonexistent fairways, unplayable green side bunkers, beat up greens and you can’t even tell if they have tee boxes! So disappointing.
Good bang for your buck
Tee box- are in good shape except for the par 3s. They pretty much are Sand Traps
Fairways- most are in good shape. Some need work
Sand traps and bunkers/- are not maintained
Greens good shape
Course looks amazing, green are on great shape, couple tee boxes need some TLC
Great course
Haven't played silverthorn in a while,, seem to be in great shape, green are good receptive
Did enjoy it
have played here many times. Always a pleasure. nice fairways & greens.
In need of major work
It’s a real shame, because the layout of this place is pretty good, but it’s in need of a lot of work. Front 9 in somewhat better condition than the back and I’d go as far as to say it’s mostly unplayable without moving the ball to find some grass in the fairways. Hopefully things improve, otherwise better elsewhere for the time being.
the only thing decent were the greens. the rest was terrible.
have played here many times in the past. the course is in pretty good shape. on the day I played, the skies just opened up with a down pour on the 8th tee box. Everything got soaked.
Called it a day.
Aerated back 9 and greens had damage.
The 2 most important things were course condition and value for the money, both of which I gave a 2 out of 5.
The back 9 had just been aerated and the plugs were still covering the fairways. Many of the tee boxes were patchy at best. Many of the greens had damage making putting difficult. When a course aerates they should announce it ahead of time so I can decide to play a different course. Also the course should charge less money the week of aeration. I've played Silverthorn before and this was by far the worst shape its been in.
Rain helping
Fairways getting better with plenty of rain recently. They normally maintain the greens. Having a problem with green #15. I’m sure they’ll work on it. A little more maintenance on fairways and t boxes and the course can be in very good shape again. Prices are a little high for summer in Florida.
These have to be employee reviews. The place is in awful condition.
