Silverthorn Country Club
About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

I've played this course off and on for a few years and today was the best shape I've ever seen it. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Teeboxes are in pretty good shape too. Rough is bald and sand traps could use a little more sand but for the price during winter this is a great value.
Great value
A friend and I played here for the 1st time in more than a year. The condition were much better than we remembered. The greens and teeboxs were outstanding. Fairways had a few spots here and there but nothing to extreme at all. We will definitely be putting this course back in our rotation.
Colored greens
for the price it is ok golf course. we played in fog and it was first time and still shooting in the dark. back nine was much better. Everything else is decent except greens. Puts were not rolling good and they were very bumpy. They were also colored green so couldn't see the shade of the grass.
Back for Seconds
This was our second time playing this course. It was in far better shape than the last time, which was in February. Pace of play was excellent, less than 4 hours. Most greens were in great shape, tee boxes and fairways could use some TLC!! But would definitely play this course again!!
Staff extremely rude
Booked tee time for 7:16am today. Got pushed back to 7:40am due to the starter let's his friends play thru first without a booked tee time. Told friends before visitors. It would not have been an issue if it was one group. But it was a group of seven. Why pay for a tee time if you are going to be treated like this. Major attitude.
It’s improved
I would say the course is in decent shape and has improved, one green that was not great.
Some of the fairways and tee boxes are starting to come back
Good Value for the Money
As a local, I play here almost weekly and I want to help set expectations for everyone. I’ve played plenty of places that cost me $60-$70 that have some weeds in bunkers, hit or miss tee boxes, thin fairways, and greens that are patchy and don’t roll well. Silverthorn is $29-$40 on GolfNow and a great value for the money.
Yes, some fairways on the back 9 get thin (and some could be cut tighter in spots), the green on 15 is the only one that really needs some help, and the par 3 tee boxes are sandy. But, if you remember the cost, you’ll find value here.
Having said that, the layout is challenging. Many tee shots need to be strategically placed onto narrow fairways in order to make your approach shot around and over numerous bunkers (or water) easier.
No matter what tee box you play from, I think you’ll enjoy the layout. By the end of your round, you’ll likely agree that you’ve played more expensive courses in the same or worse shape. Again, there is good value here. Enjoy it.
Always a pleasure to play here. not to busy this time of the year. course is in good shape
greens make it worth playing
the greens are best shape, t boxes and fairways need work
Meh
Sand and dirt everywhere in the common hit areas of the fairways, tee boxes, and some of the greens. I got the tee time as a hot deal, which is the only reason I give it an overall of 3 stars. Otherwise, there’s no way I’d pay the regular price for this course.
