Seven Hills Golfers Club
About
Seven Hills Golfers Club in Spring Hill is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, a relatively secluded location that makes this course a hidden gem. Locals know that the course is one of the best golf values in the area. The links-style layout has appeal for players of any skill level. There are interesting risk-reward opportunities throughout and the fairways are wide and player friendly. The golf course has a few lengthy and narrow holes, which makes it play longer than what's indicated on the scorecard. The layout's par 3s are particularly challenging. In addition to some tricky doglegs, you'll encounter strategically placed bunkers guarding both the greensides and fairways. Your accuracy will be put to the test throughout Seven Hills Golfers Club but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

course in bad shape
they must be reseeding or something, the greens hadn't been mowed in several days it looked like, heck the whole course looked like it hadn't been mowed in quite awhile, many tee boxes were closed. this is normally a decent course so it should get better. the pace was so slow and conditions so bad I just left the course somewhere on the back nine.
What a bizarre round of golf
They are in the process of overseeding with rye, and honestly the course was just about unplayable. The greens were allowed to grow very, very long... I've never tried to putt on anything like that. The greens were the thickness of what the fringe should be. After a couple of holes we just decided to call them an automatic 2-putt.
They were also mowing greens while we played, and on one hole we had to sit in the fairway for about 10 minutes, despite no one else being on the course, waiting for the mower to get off the green... this was at about 1 in the afternoon. And once he was done cutting, it was still unputtable.
We had to dodge sprinklers all day... they would pop up randomly, one about three feet behind my Dad, nailing him right in the middle of a shot. Absolutely ridiculous.
Don't trust the distances... anywhere... use a GPS or phone app. Many holes have yardages that differ greatly between sign at the tee, and the distance listed on the card, one different by about 75 yards... and both differ from what your eyes tell you the distance is.
Have to play preferred lies, as many shots in the fairway wind up sitting in sand, although there are some fairways that are pretty good. Most tees were set in temporary locations, and although the tee boxes on those holes looked good, they were off limits while the grass grows in. Most of the greens looked fantastic... but "fuzzy", as described by the gentleman in the pro shop.
All in all, they're working on it, and the terrible condition is probably very temporary. It's an interesting layout with some elevation and some neat holes. But until they get it going again, I wouldn't return at any price.
"Hairy greens"
The course could be great except for the greens. The lady at the clubhouse told us "by the way, they haven't mowed the greens so they're a little hairy" AFTER she took our money of course. The greens were so long you couldn't tell if you were on the green most of the time. Also, they stopped serving food before we got to the turn (2:30 pm). All they had to offer was $1.75 crackers and chips,
Close it and Fix it-RYE GRASS and alot of it if you stay open.
Having played this course 20 years ago many times when Kenny owned it and it was awesome, what a downright embarassment to let it get this bad. If it were free-it would still be a bad deal. The course is obviously in the throes of bankruptcy, no merchandise in pro shop. Buy all the Rye grass you can buy and take every penny you make this winter and put it back into the course-that is your only hope to avoid closure. Seven Hills has an excellent layout and nice roll to the land, I wish you the best, but it will take an investor with very deep pockets. In the meantime I cannot reccomend at any price.
Really bad 1st impression.
Main reason for the bad review is that there was no warning that the greens were not cut in weeks. Not exaggerating when i say you could not tell where the fairways ended and greens began. The course was in decent shape and it appears to be under heavy maintenance but it was near impossible to putt. Golf now should have a "course condition" comment tab for the course to update daily so you know what your paying for. Very disappointing because I was excited to try a new course.
Course improvements are underway
Greens and much of the fairways are in poor condition. There is however, the appearance of work in progress to improve the course conditions. Fire ant mounds are all over the course, and it's difficult to avoid stepping in these mounds. The entire Staff in pro-shop, restaurant and cart shop are outstanding. Absolutely top notch friendly folks!
Nice Course
Friendly staff, nice course. Lots of work being done to bring fairways and greens up to "par"
Horrible
Greens had so much fungus on them and I could barely tell fairways from rough. Whoever owns this course is collecting the money and putting nothing into the course. I am not a hard critic, but this place was nasty looking
Review
Great layout. Course in pretty rough condition compared to most courses in the area. It's hit or miss here. Price was well worth it though.
Not even worth the $10 GolfNow rate
Poor greens lots of bare spots. Fairways full of dirt, little grass. Used to be a fairly decent course but is now not worth it no matter how little they charge. Too many other good courses in the area to waste time on this.
Not the seven hills it used to be
The course is in terrible condition. The nicest feature was the golf carts.I got a hot deal for $10 per person and to be honest they should have had to pay me to play there. The course overall was in terrible shape. Not sure the grounds crew knows what they are doing or if the owner just isn't putting the necessary time and money into getting the course in shape. This course is less than 10 minutes from my house but I'd rather pay $35 and drive 45 minutes or more to play brooksville cc. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere
Monday at the course
It needs a little bit more work but its coming in pretty good.
Nice round
This course has a nice flow to the layout. There is not any water worries on this course so its great for kids to play. The bunkers are well maintained and the pace of play was great. Its on my regular play list.
This course needs a lot of work ...
Tee boxes are burning out (cut to short) . Greens on the front nine are in bad shape , loaded with crab grass and signs of fungus . Back nine greens are not as bad . Fairways are getting very thin , lots of bare spots . It's a shame they are letting it go now that the snow birds are gone . Foe the money it's not worth it . For $ 40.00 bucks you can play World Woods (summer rates ) .
7 Hills
Fairways were rough, but if playing "winter rules" they were ok. Greens had a fair amount of weeds.
This course is in bad shape
We would have to move the ball 10 yards to find grass to hit off of. The greens were so in distress it was impossible to get off in 2 strokes and they were full of weeds. Not any fun to play and not worth the money. It used to be a nice course.
Fun course except greens
I enjoyed playing the course, the weather was great and we weren't rushed or waiting on others. The only complaint I have is the greens were in terrible shape.
Check on course conditions before playing.
I used to live in Spring Hill and have played this course several times in the past. Visiting my good friend decided to play here and set the tee time on line and never called to check on the course condition. The fairways had sparse patches of grass and was mostly down to bare earth. We rolled or ball until we could find a decent patch. The greens were bumpy and had little clumps of grass growing up in the green so you never had a good roll. When it's maintained is a fun and challenging course but I realized today I got what I paid for. $22 for the round and it was only worth $3 plus the $18 cart. That's just my opinion. The personnel are great and it's a nice place to visit but call ahead and ask for the course conditions first.
Go someplace else
Course not in very good shape for the amount of rain. I played course in years past, was disappointed
Worst I've played in fl so far
First off my group was in brookesville area so we decided to play somewhere new to us. This course has barely any grass and the greens were a joke. We left after 2 holes because it was 50 mins to play those alone! What a goat track, I've never written a bad review before this one, should cost $1 to play here.
