Don’t.
This was the worst course I’ve ever seen. Once you turned into the place, the road looked like it had been carpet bombed. The staff acted as if we were inconveniencing them for being there. The carts were trash, one had a flat tire and the other didn’t have brakes. The rental clubs sets were from garbage, my buddy got a set that included three 9 irons, three 6 irons (one of which was a lefty) and no putter. Course conditions were terrible, except for the greens. Not sure how they managed that one. We paid for 18 and went home after 9. I wouldn’t wish this course on my worst enemy. Find another place unless you are hard up and need a place to learn the game and not worry about people behind you - we saw one other poor soul out there just trying to avoid his wife.
There’s sand everywhere and the fairways are horrible everytime you ball lands after hitting a tee shot it lands and makes a huge blast of sand and never rolls weeds and everywhere and the golf carts break down
No food. No drinks. Front 9 is pretty rough. Felt like I was playing on Mars in the fairways. Greens were actually good. Back 9 was 7/10. Only thing that was rough was the tee boxes . Big improvement from the front 9. The lack of food/beer was a disappointment but for 25$ for 18 I was not mad. I’d come back. The layout and holes were fun.
Great Greens, great price
I’m new to the Spring Hill area. Moved from Lutz, FL and used to play at Heritage Harbor all the time. We were looking for a similar course to Heritage Harbor… affordable price, decent course but not anything fancy. I think we’ve found that course. This course has beautiful greens…. Yes they are slow but all of them were beautifully green with no bald batches. Fairways are definitely worse than HH but hopefully they will grow in during this upcoming rainy season. Tee boxes were also terrible but you’re hitting off of a tee most of the time so that didn’t really matter. We will definitely go again and look forward to greener fairways in the future.
Greens Ok, Fairways Not so Much.
The greens are ok and better than many courses in the area. Slow, it's like they're letting them grow in. Especially on the front there is little grass in fairways so like playing out of a waste area most of the time. The back is better. Using Golf Now paid less than $20 per golfer so it was worth it.
If course was kept, would be 5 star!
The layout of his course is really great, is an awesome mix of elevation that you don’t see quite often in Florida, and if it was kept properly, this would easily be a five star course. My issues are that every fairway is just sand and every tea box is also sand. The greens are OK and playable. The cartpath parking lot and road all need considerable work many potholes almost undrivable. The pro shop and the bathrooms on the course are completely rundown. walls are stained with cigarette smoke. Overall, I had a fun time with my friends, but the conditions were miserable. Personally, I got a really good deal and I drove an hour so I’m leaving that out of my review. I would possibly play this course again if I lived 10 minutes away, and got a good deal.
Good Value
I love Oak Hills for what it is. A full 18 hole course that may be a bit sandy in the tee box and slow on the green but it makes up for that with low prices and relaxed atmosphere. At least right now Feb ‘26 it’s relatively low traffic so I can always walk on whenever and play as slow or as fast as I want and that’s pretty special when you think about it.
Amazing layout
Great layout to play, would love the grass to be maintained, very sandy but the layout is amazing. Friendly staff
Oak Hill
Greens are in good shape but fairways could
Use some grass.
Greens are currently puttable
This is my closest course. It’s been a dog track since I started, playing it, but it’s a great practice course for me because it’s slow and the layout is tough. Currently, the greens full of nice green grass and puttable so if you see the cheap hot deal and don’t mind fluffing your ball in the fairway, eh I mean idk but u know what I mean
Greens ok, Fairways sand, Check In Strange
The greens are ok and puttable. The fairways and tee boxes are basically sand. Weird that we got there approximately 40 minutes early and was told we couldn't check in until 20 minutes before our tee time. Not that there was a crowd or lack of carts. Still got out early but never had anything like that happen before.
Awesomeness
This needs to be played just for its omega man vibe. This is like if you played a golf course after a world disaster. If the first hole doesn’t get you laughing then go home. So thing is the greens are decent and the course is a very cool layout. Also the course got less apocalyptic after each hole, especially into the back nine. I love it and almost hope it doesn’t improve.
