About
Starke Country Club is a 9-hole course that is open to the public. The layout features tree-lined fairways and water hazards come into play on seven holes in the forms of streams and small ponds. There are also strategically placed bunkers and native vegetation bordering the fairways and greensides. Although the course does feature some challenges, the layout is player-friendly with many forgiving features. It provides an excellent and affordable round for the beginning golfer. One of the mot notable holes on the course is the par-5, 5th hole. This tricky par-5 has three separate creeks running through the fairway.

Small country course; Great for practice, casual play
The course is okay, and the staff is just fine. It is a small country course. It is not the most difficult course but it has its spots of difficulty if you are not careful. Great to practice on and rarely crowded except some weekends. Pace of play is fine unless you are an excellent golfer or in a small group (2 or less) since play is casual and you will probably be faster than the casual golfers. Take your time and have fun. Nice quiet atmosphere which is much better than some top rated 18 hole courses I have played on. Normal late Spring through early Fall weather prevails which frequently produces afternoon thunderstorms, and although they are short-lived I recommend starting play no later than noon during those months. Note: when I play here I use it more as a practice course. As a single player I play both long and short tees in a "9" hole game to keep me from catching group play. So 2 tee shots per hole helps with distance/club control and selection while getting plenty of swings and only paying for a nine hole game. Essentially playing 18 holes in about 2 hours; you can't beat that. I do not do that if playing with another unless we get backed up. Always call in advance to ask course condition due to rainfall and/or maintenance routine. Mid-week to Friday are best times to play

Obviously this review was placed in anger. If the individual could not play then how could the layout be rated at all. I have never been to anty golf course where you do not get a rainckeck, discount, and/or refund if you could not play. The review provided makes no sense. The course is okay, and the staff is fine. Great Little Course
First time playing this course and I will definitely make it a regular. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Terrible course
Fairway,green all terrible shape,I will never go back anymore!
The layout is not poor. It is jyst not the most sifficult. It is a small country course. For the cost on a weekend to play 18 holes it is avery good value.
The staff was friendly at least!
Course was beyond bad. Literally couldn’t put on the greens the grass was so long. The rest of the course was just as over grown and a sloppy mud fest. There were not any cart paths to speak of so you are constantly in the muck.
However, the staff was probably the friendliest staff I’ve come across!!!!!
Cheap
Cheap golf. First time for my wife and grandson playing golf. Best ball players on course didn't seem to mind our slow pace which was really nice. Wife and grandson had no idea of golf etiquette and the other players probably had a good laugh watching the multiple wiffs and yelling " Did you see where my ball went " ( which was about 30 -50 yards)
The course is what it is. Good layout but the greens and tees need extensive work. Had a great time and my wife and grandson want to play golf now. Mission accomplished.
Laid back course
My son and I played her for the first time. I really wasn't thinking it would be that great when we pulled into parking lot. I was wrong! Great 9 hole course, great people, laid back. We had a great time!
A couple of disclaimers, but give it a try
The course is first come first serve so your Golfnow tee time doesn’t really mean anything. Keep that in mind because we had to wait almost an hour because all the carts were out. The greens were overgrown, but halfway through the round they were cut and it made a world of difference. Staff was super friendly. Very laid back and a great place for the beginner golfer or anyone who wants to play a budget friendly round with family/friends. Beer is cheap and dress code is very relaxed.
Great course if you’re just looking to get in some practice.
Nice little 9 hole course if you’re just looking to get in some driver and iron practice. Greens are in rough shape. Great layout that allows you to hit a variety of clubs and shots. I was looking to get in some work with a new set of irons without spending a lot and it served its purpose well. Staff was super friendly. Will definitely go back when I’m in the area.
