Bright's Creek Golf Club
About
Bright's Creek Golf Club is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Mill Spring, North Carolina. The club boasts a Tom Fazio design and an unbelievable setting. There are mountain views in every direction and a number of streams meander throughout the golf course. Fazio enlisted his signature bunkering but he also utilized the natural features of the terrain to the fullest extent. He is a master of creating the "hidden layout" that flows seamlessly across the natural lay of the land. The rolling hills provide challenging lies and water comes into play on several holes. Fazio included a 19th hole, called "Hog Hole." This fun little par-3 can be played from two unique tee boxes that have to carry the large pond on the left. It has the perfect set-up if you're looking to practice with short irons or chipping around the green.

Special place
Brights Creek is a special place and if you can find a way to get on you need to do so. I got on as the guest of an employee and paid the cart fee. It was one of the greatest golf experiences I have ever had. The surrounding mountain views are exceptional. Each holes is different from any other hole and none of the holes play beside each other. The design is outstanding. And the course was in nearly flawless condition. One of the greatest golf experiences of my life.
You will enjoy this George Fazio Track!!!
Played in a tournament here and I have to say that I enjoyed playing this track. Not one bad fairway lie. Bunkers are the right kind of sand. Greens are the backbone of this layout. Undulating, good speed, and heavily trapped. Typical Fazio. Just had a blast! I will play this course again if I get the chance. The reason for the 3 star on the amenities is because they are in the building stage for them. Just for the record.....I would love to feel 24-35 but I'm actually 67. This review gives you no option for age. Or at least I did not see one.....because I'm 67.
golf heaven
Bright's Creek is worth whatever it takes to get you on the course.
Awesome views, wonderful staff, ultra challenging
Played 4 rounds with a group over the weekend, and stayed in the big house "The Retreat" on property. This is an excellent facility and wonderful staff. We never left the property and had all meals on site. The food is spectacular and service excellent without being stuffy. The course is gorgeous with perfect tees, greens and fairways. The greens are especially outstanding. 10/10. The views on some of the holes are the best I have seen this side of Bandon Dunes. The course is extremely difficult (deep deep rough frames every hole, above knee high in some places). I recommend playing one tee shorter than you would usually. It's that difficult. But a wonderful experience and highly recommended. The view in the morning on the third tee is worth the trip by itself. Great practice facility and restaurant.
