Fun course
The course is fun and challenging. A lot of trees to contend with but the course layout is nice. Only thing is some of the greens need to be repaired in areas. Other than that the course is very nice.
Crush in it
Fanratic, great value first time there and we will be returning
Below average
Course was in rough shape already for being only May. Course wasn’t blown off for debris and leaves, grass hasn’t been cut. Just poorly taken care
Great course
Very nice course. The 2 par 5 holes are very long and challenging. Overall the course is great and a lot of fun
Disappointed
Course was run down. Walked up to what I thought would be a club house to discover a condemmed building. Looked to the right of it to discover another structure that was to be the club house. Staff was nice but the carts were very dirty and the key was on a block of make shift wood? Staff informed me that golf vision had sold the place to the city of Johnsburg and that it would be changes in the future. The course was beat up but playable and not enough markers to guide yourself to next hole etc. I played but was disappointed throughout the day with the shape of course. I would return if reassured improvments would be made. Hopefully new owners make a commitment to this as it has potential.
Chapel Hill Review
This was the first time I played this course. The hilly nature of some of the holes made it challenging as the green could not be seen from the fairway approach. The pace on the front 9 was rather slow but it picked up on the back 9. We did finish the round in 4 1/2 hours. There was no drinking water available or any beverage cart so be prepared to have water with you.
needs a lot of work not very well groomed will not return
The rain has part of the curse closed bud there was a 2 some that took 2 and 1/2 to play 9 holes which slowed everyone done
A good neighborhood course. Lots of hills and trees, very little water. Grass a little thin and ground a little hard but in good shape otherwise.
Not to good
Some dead spots(fairways and greens). Greens were very stiff and fast. Stopping the ball was a chore. Wedges bounced off greens like they were concrete. Sand was unplayable on 85% of course. Also surprised they didn't have a ranger babysitting shirtless drunks on Saturday Memorial Day weekend.
Fair Value, Decent Pace, Long Enough
Title sums it up. You get what you pay for, and Chapel Hill is the course I play the most often. For $20 hot deals, or even the coupon rates you can get off their Website, it is a decent enough course. The length allows you to use every club in the bag, the atmosphere is casual, and the staff is friendly.
If you're looking for majestic views and cart girls, you got the wrong place.
If you're looking for a quick round (weekdays) at a fair price, this is your place.
Hire some help
ok I played the course 25 years ago it was a convince for the guys playing so I chose chapel hill ther was one guy working the counter on an 80 degree day I'm sorry that's unexcepital took for ever to check in get food then the phone rang a couple times give the poor guy some help !!!!!! It rained the day before so there was water on top of cart when we left for the first we got wet from the water on top of the cart, sorry that's not right
Bad Layout From Red Tees
Course was in good shape (especially the greens) and staff was very friendly. My biggest issue was the layout. The par 3s and 4s were way too long from the forward (red tees). At least three par 3s were set up at approximately 170-195 yards which 90% of women have no chance to hit in regulation without hitting a driver. There were also at least three par 4s that were 375-400 yards from the forward tees. In many cases, the difference between the "forward" tees and the next set was less than 15 yards. That is not much of an advantage for women and/or less skilled golfers. I enjoyed the course enough that I would recommend it to male golfers, but I know a lot of women who would find it too difficult.
Excellent Value and Greens are Very good Condition
This course has very good condition greens. The front par fours are very long and somewhat narrow.
Been playing this course for years and it is now in best shape...ever!
