Worst Course I Have Ever Played…
If you want to hit off concrete style fairways, rough, and tee boxes this is the course for you. The only perk about this course is that your ball will roll an extra 100 yards because the ground is so hard. Never watered besides the greens. The holes are so over watered that your ball with go in 3 inches of water after each putt. Really sad cause I liked this course last year, but it’s gone downhill. Would not play here again.
It’s a good middle ground
This course is an absolute middle ground course. It’s not top notch but it’s not a trash course either. Tee boxes are in rough shape on most holes. The fairways are hard which is nice for an extra 30 yard carry on my drive but rough on the wrists when trying to dig in with an iron. The greens are in great shape. Course layout has a nice mix of challenging and forgiving holes. The clubhouse has an old bowling alley feel to it. My tee time was at 6am and the lady there was in a good mood which was nice that early on a Saturday. Pace of place is pretty solid but I’ve only ever teed off here before 7am. Overall a good experience I’ve been here several times and will continue to come unless something changes.
DRY
Nice course just needs watered. Very hard ground. Hilly courses like this one that get no water enhance the dry conditions.
Great course for the price!
Chapel Hill GC is a great course overall for the price compared to other courses in the area. The pace was a bit slow this last time but usually not to bad. Staff is awesome and extremely friendly!
Tee boxes: Decent but do need some work.
Fairways: rock hard and need work. The roll on the fairways is crazy due to them being so dry. But overall decent condition
Bunkers: great condition
Greens: fast and soft, excellent condition.
Carts: Decent basic golf carts. No gps or usb charging
Overall an awesome course to play with some challenging shots and greens. Great staff!
Horrible course
I play at least 3 times a week and at over 30 different courses in the area this year. This was by far the worst course I have played on. The entire course the ground was so hard it was like hitting off concrete. Also the fairways and rough are cut almost the same so you can’t tell if you are hitting to a fairway or into rough. Seems like they have never heard of an aerator. This is on my list of courses to never go back to again.
The lady at the counter was so rude and unprofessional that she didn’t want to give cart keys before tee time. She said that there are few carts but she lied because I saw more than dozen carts outside.
Start over!
Course is just about unplayable! Extremely poor condition. Tee boxes are chunked to the point that markers are almost off box, fairways are like concrete and are very thin of grass. Greens are probably the only thing that’s in any playable condition. Save your time and money. Time to hire Al Czervik to build condos on this property!!
Improving
Nice course, good value, but need to improve the irrigation of the fairways. Good staff
greens were very good , fairways were showing wear from no water, overall I liked the layout, nice hilly course
Pace of play
This year we are finding groups of 6 playing , we had 2 of them a few weeks ago.
This week was the kiss out there screwing around before us and after. Hole 14 they were not moving nor hitting...went up to see and they were looking for their ball. Hmmm funny thing is they had a dozen of them on the ground. Looked like more or less looking for free balls. Also had one bag of clubs and screwing around on the holes.
Nice hidden course
I've played this course everyear since 1964 except for 68-69,when I was over seas. Always a pleasant round. Nothing real fancy but fun
Course conditions are poor. Fairways need watering and maintenance. Some greens have very bad spots. Need repair
