One of the best if not the best golfing value in the St.Louis Metro Area!
Course is always in great shape! In my opinion, a good golf course requires you to hit all of the clubs in your bag. Spencer T. Olin golf course does just that! I only wish it was closer to my home, but definitely worth my 45 minute drive. Especially if you go to Fast Eddie’s Bon Aire after your round of golf and order a cheese burger, chilled shrimp and your favorite beverage! Always a great day for only $25-$30 altogether!
A True Gem
Wow! What an excellent golf course with a fabulous layout. All the stories are true and this track is wonderful. A real challenge that requires good and thoughtful shots. Position off the tee is important requiring good shots into the greens. Greens are challenging and would be significantly better if people fixed their ball marks. Staff very friendly. Can't wait to get back there this weekend!
Quick round
After a 30 minute thunderstorm, we teed off and played in 3 1/2 hours. I was surprised they let us on the course, but it seems to drain well. Fun round!
Nice Course
Love the course, but Sadly, Too many ball marks not repaired by lazy players... maybe they should give away free repair tools with instructions.
We got a First-Timer here...
This is the first time I have played this course after hearing a ton of great things about it. The course is challenging, and the pin placements today were a bit absurd. It was like we were playing on a Sunday at the US Open. The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. The greens were a little beat down with unfixed ball marks. The greens were slippery. Pace of play was pretty good. It took until about the 14th hole to catch up to another group that slowed things down. I wish the course would have had something in the cups like every other course I've played in the state of Illinois for the COVID times. Overall, it's a nice course, and I'll play again.
STO
Conservatives was in great shape. I was paired with a Jr golfer who was a phenomenal player which made me step my game up.
GREAT COURSE GREAT SHAPE
I highly recommend...had not played in years and have been back with friends three times since (90m round trip) ...keep it up!! Course in great shape and friendly staff.
Challenging course
Beautiful well maintained course and well organized for Covid situation!
great round
no complaints, other then the Sunday pins being in some ridiculous places, right on ridges etc
Getcha some.
Spencer got it going on right now. Course is in great shape and green green green. I can only imagine the greens are going to get faster and faster. I live in Phoenix Arizona, now. And boy do I miss courses like Spencer. It’s the shizzle.
Great Course In Great Shape
Spencer T. Olin is one of my Top 5 courses in the St. Louis metro area. The crowd was very light in the morning because I'm not sure people know that they are open with carts now, Our pace of play was outstanding.
The course is really in great shape, especially the greens. They are rolling smooth and fast. I also liked they added the S.T.O. Member tees. Where you play the yellow tees on the longer holes and the white tees on the other holes.
My only complaint is they have just turned the cups upside down due to the Covid-19. Your ball does not always fall down an inch because of the metal sections of the upside cup. It would be better if they use a piece of a Styrofoam noodle like most courses are using.
Great day to play
Great weather and day to play. Kind of a terrible pace of play but that seems to be the norm right now everywhere.
Best course in the metro east
I love this course. The layout is perfect, the staff is wonderful. Mary, the manager is always very helpful. I would play here every day if I could.
