Slow Play Ruins this Course
The staff I dealt with were super friendly. Practice facility was ok.. putting green and chipping area were very nice. Received 2 stars because the pace of play was super slow and there was nothing done about it. I walked on as a single because the pair I was suppose to play with didn't show up. I played the 1st hole without seeing anybody, and from there I ran into group after group after group. By the time I get to the 5th hole i decided to just get off the course. It wasn't worth it for me to just sit. Could have been avoided with groups playing different tracks (three 9 hole courses on property). But instead everybody played Red to White while Blue was wide open. After complaining about the slow play they sent me to the blue course and I didn't see one group my whole trip out there. Probably won't return.
The course is in great shape.
The course is in great shape, including the bunkers, Kudos to the Groundskeeper. The greens were rolling true and after all the recent rains, the course is in great shape. With three nine hole options, the course is typically a very good value and you have to make shots to score well. The staff on the course were very friendly and help you want to come back.
Fun shots course
This is a Links course that allows for a not so accurate golfer to hit the fairway pretty easily and when you don't you usually still have playable shot. It has undulating fairways and greens. Good mix of par 3's 4's and 5's. I bet the greens will play pretty fast come summer time. @ $35 for 18 and a cart it was well worth the $$ spent. You cannot walk this course there are a few holes that you have to travel about a mile between holes. Well maybe not a mile, but it is pretty far. Played the Red/White courses.
Brilliant all round experience
Have played this course many times and during each game the excellence of the course will come up in our conversations.
Nice course to play a link style
Three 9 hole courses to play, each different. Even after the heavy rains this past week course was dry and playable. Large greens in good shape. Cart paths are still being improved.
Course in fine early spring form.
Early April in northern Illinois is usually a funky time for golf. But the folks at Carillon are doing things right. We had a worry free round on a surprisingly smooth playing surface, both fairways and greens. Keep it up.
great golf experiencefrom the time you pull in to the time you leave.
The course is not a back breaker but it can give the average golfer just enough trouble. Conditions are always excellent, especially for late November in Chicago. Staff very friendly and helpful. A+
It's an ok course
Not accommodating as the two times I played there it was not easy getting to play 18. One 9 hole was closed the other was supposedly crowded though it didn't look it and if you r going to sell a tee time don't u think we should have 18 available? Otherwise don't make me drive 30 mins out there n not have option to play. 18!
Enjoying a late Summer Fling
It was one of the last nice days of the year in the 70's. Everyone seemed to be out playing on this day. The course was in good shape despite being a little soggy in areas due to the previous two days of rain. The greens were in good shape with six being aerated.
Played the Red / White course and had a great time. Stayed after for beers and a pizza. I would recommend this course to anyone.
27 holes of pure delight
beautiful conditions, beautiful scenery. greens are fast but they hold most shots. the course offers left and right doglegs with some hilly elements. great bang for the buck. also stop in and have a good burger and beer.
Good course
I like the course. has a very nice practice area and the course plays pretty fair. Can expect high school matches in the afternoon though so book early.
