Long round
Left after 14th hole after 4.5 hours on the course. Very disappointing, figuring the higher prices would keep the non golfers away.
Worth the drive
Foxy Hills is definitely worth the drive from Chicago, sign up for their newsletter for deals. Fun Layout, very challenging but wont beat a high handicapper over the head, The trees on the back 9 make this one of the better public course layouts around.
Greta course play there all the time, but it was 90 out seen the cart girl on the 2nd hole and that was it for the day, only 2 water fountains on the whole course
Great Course
Foxford Hills is an awesome course. Course condition and maintenance are incredible. Love it.
Great course
I have never played here before or knew about this course but glad I played it! Would recommend to everyone.

I had excellent time at this beautiful golf course
Great course, tough but fair
Took advantage of Golf Now special $29. The course is in great shape, lots of challenging holes. #2 nice wide fairway but the green is narrow and well protected by water and sand.
Greens were fast, but pin placements were fair. Good pace , pretty course. Highly recommended.
Foxford Hills Golf Club
The Good: Very nice, upscale layout in Northwest Chicago suburbs is a compilation of links and woodlands engulfed with interesting bunkering. Great Par 5's, including the superb #15, as well as strong Par 3's that require precision. Fair amount of elevation change for an Illinois track. Good course conditions and large greens that run pretty smooth. Good clubhouse, nice on-course amenities, and very strong practice facility. Exceptional staff that will make sure you enjoy your day, especially the starter and rangers. Lots of fairway yardage markers is a plus.
The Bad: No GPS is a bummer. Bunker complexes are visually stunning, but a little thin. Greens are fairly slow and don't hold very well. Good value with coupons or twilight rates, but at $80-$85 peak season, a little steep.
The Verdict: Foxford Hills is a fun golf course that provides ample room of the tee but difficult bunkers and greens that will challenge any player. One of the better public municipal courses in the northwest suburbs. Play it during off-peak or twilight and its a steal for the area.
Best Hole: Without question, the Par 5 15th is one of the best holes in all of Illinois. A downhill tee shot to an approach over a stoned pond to a thin, long green. Just an absolutely beautiful hole.
Awesome course and play early and the pace of play was incredible. A hidden gem worth the ride. Will be back
Great play
The course was in great shape and ready for the best round ever. The greens were not too fast, and the fairways were in great shape. It was a great day for gold.
Wonderful Layout - Sketchy pockmarked greens
I've always enjoyed Foxford. Well designed and a fun track with lots of challenges. Overall it's in decent shape except the greens....agree with previous reviewers it's a crying shame the far too many ball marks aren't healing properly so there's some luck involved when putting. Course used to have immaculate greens and when they are smooth require a lot of skill. Downhillers extremely quick and you need some local knowledge to attack several of these holes. Traps are okay some hit and miss, tees okay and fairways are fine. Just wish folks would replace their divots and use the mix that's on the golf carts. The 14th and 16th require approach shots to the extreme right of the green so they will roll left onto to green. 16th is one my favorite par 4's ever very beautiful with a tough uphill approach shot to a devilish green with no easy pins.
Good grass range, decent putting green, clubhouse with one shower in the men's room and slightly overpriced beverages. We had a really nice day at Foxford and look forward to returning. Recommended except anticipate some challenging putting because of the pockmarked greens.....hopefully some extreme green aeration will take care of that for next season.....3.75 stars upgrading because of the layout and design features.
Great layout terrible greens
This course used to be fantastic!!!! Used to be is the key sentance. I love the layout the fairways are in great shape. Then you hit onto the green, this is a giant issue they look like a teenagers face. As in craters everywhere its near impossible to have a true put on any hole.a friend I tried this place after a few month hiadus and was reminded why we do not like this track. Brand new golf carts though.
Beautiful course!
Foxford Hills in Cary is a beautiful course. Well manicured from tee to green. The layout is challenging with its bunker placement, rolling fairways and greens, and includes a couple of fun island greens as well. The day we played the sand traps were a little hard, but not really a big issue. There are only a couple of places to get a drink ofwater on each 9, and we didn't see a beverage cart either, so be prepared on a hot day before you tee off. Great course overall. I hope to return soon.
Great green condition
It has been awhile since I played this course. (may be last fall) Course was in great shape despite recent heavy rains. One thing that surprised me the most was how greens were improved in terms of speed. I do not remember it being that fast but it was on the day I played. It is a challenging and fun course. Faster greens made it even better.
Rain
The floods may have effected the greens as they were inconsistent in pace and we're beat up in several areas, but that seemed to be more of a issue of maintenance. More importantly, I thought it was beyond rediculuos that I wasn't able to use a reward with your new policy of three days. I often book for one or two golfers a day or two beforehhand in order to get good deals. I am a PhD level user of golfnow and this new policy is more than bad for me and will certainly determine use of alternate websites.
