Super friendly staff, great lay out. Even though this is a challenging course, its the only one in the area where you can play a 3 hour round.

This has been a nice course since it opened years ago. It's a challenging layout and is always kept in very playable condition. We have a group that plays weekly and this is one that we keep in the rotation. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

Under two hour round, golfing by myself. Excellent layout and friendly staff at the counter. The grounds and fairways are not perfect but the pace of play made up for it. I love quick and open courses, this is the best for a great pace of play. A couple challenging holes with one island green and enough trees & rough areas to keep most of us challenged. I heard the course is for sale, I hope it sticks around!

Short and challenging , condition is always good in Fall season... IF you layup at hole 7 and 12 , your scores would be better

If your looking for bell and whistles this ain’t the course but it does provide a good challenge for your game ! Ideal weather conditions and not many holes restricted to cart path ... overall fun day and good golf layout !

Used to play here a lot, Spring and Fall are best time to play here, they clean up # 12 nicely. #7 is always a pain to play because it requires accuracy. #3 island green is fun to play, #18 could be troublesome for short hitters, Not draining well after heavy rain. Will be back again...

Figured I give it a try because it's close to home and rarely busy. Staff was great and really friendly, driving range is small. Course layout is intriguing. The tall grass and narrow fairways had me going for extra balls in my bag alll day. It was challenging but I'll give it another shot.

Just adequate as a country course, too much unmown and unplayable wet areas. Bunkers unplayable. But, a good course for practice, which I was doing.

Looks like little or no winter and spring course maintenance....fairways and rough very spotty in places; bunkers and cart paths are rough and rocky.. Some holes really awful...e.g., mid-area on #7.

Layout has great potential -- ideal for planning shot placement. Staff very nice.

Seems like it's time to give my first 1 rating on here. There was little to like about the course and even then the poor conditions negate those pretty quickly. Interesting layout - kind of fun with some hills, short par 4s. Kind of quirky at times. Overall pretty short. The best part are the par 3's especially the Island #3.

The bad: Some of the holes are far away from each other and we got lost a few times. Our cart broke on the first hole and had to get a replacement. Very few fairways...most are just areas with slightly less crab grass. Lots of marshy areas. One "fairway" was just mud. Ended up in bunkers a few times, but no need to rake them after, because they were either dirt, mud, wet or the one had a massive puddle that had plants growing in it. Driving range only had about 6 mats and when we got there people were waiting two deep behind.

The course is in the middle of nowhere so unless you live near it, I wouldn't consider venturing out. It's a farm setting which I guess has some nice views. Staff was friendly too. However, they do not serve alcohol so if you for some reason do play this course, make sure you're aware of this.

Have played here several times over the years. Cart paths unpaved and bone-jarring. The rough is nasty, clumps and bare spots.. Has potential to be a fine short course with interesting layout.

Had an early tee time on a Saturday morning, booked online. No problems checking in, or getting started.

Short course, takes the driver out of your hand for longer hitters. Grass spotty in some areas, but most ho-hum courses are that way. Wind made the round more fun, a calm day and this course would get eaten alive. Undulating greens make for some fun putts.

The cart path (gravel road) was washed out in some areas. But not bad for a gravel cart path.

Holes are on top of one another, so keep your head up and ears open for wayward shots from other groups.

Overall it wasnt a bad experience, another ok golf course with some highs and some lows.

I was invited to play with a golf group a friend belongs to that travels around and plays different courses in Maryland and Pennsylvania. This course was probably the worst course I ever played in my 18 years of playing golf. The layout is terrible and the course conditions were bad. The greens fees were in the 50 dollar price range and for this course they are about 25 bucks high in my opinion. There are many other courses like Pilgrims Oak that blow this place away. The "Club House" if that's what they call it doesn't serve alcohol so this place has nothing to offer after a round if you want a cold beer.

Simply put, this course offers the greatest value in the area and it's not close. Course can go a bit brown in dry summers, and when the wind is calm she is exposed. But the course is amazing for what it is. She gets a bad rap from people who just do a drive by and see the first two holes as nothing special and lined by houses, trust me, it gets better. From the island green par 3 to the blind downhill par 5 18th this course is amazing after those two warm up holes. Billy Hackett has done an incredible job with this gem that features incredibly crafted complex greens and bunkers. Not long, especially in low wind, but plenty challenging when she wants to be, this gem of a course is worth every penny. And most importantly, being that it resides in a dry township, they encourage you to bring in your own beers!

This course is great. I usually try to hit this course at least 3 times during the season because it's close to West Chester where I live and the drive is nice to get there. This year I played it 6 times and I'll probably return 2 more if the weather stays nice like this.

I think the course has really turned around. The greens used to be pretty dead and beat up 3 years ago. i will say that. It used to be a really beat up, run down course that I thought was going to close.

Nowadays the course looks great. I even asked the staff on one of my rounds this year what is different and they mentioned they have had a new Superintendent the past few years that helped improve conditions. It shows.

Don't pay attention to the negative reviews because people like to complain. I typically don't pay attention to a lot of the negative reviews on this site because half the time you show up at these courses and it's great. If you are looking for an affordable place to golf that is near Delaware, West Chester or Kennett Square then visit Chisel Creek.

I booked a tee time online, and arrived at the course to find that I had been booked to follow the last group in the club championship. The starter told me not to "push them". On almost every hole, I waited until they left the green before I even hit my tee shot. They should have blocked out a couple of hours of tee times after that group before letting anyone else go off on #1. The round took about 5.5 hours, and was a very frustrating experience. The pro shop guy apologized, but offered nothing in the way of compensation for my trouble. I was a bit surprised, and thought that it might have been small act of kindness for a miserable experience. I won't be returning to Chisel Creek.

This course would have potential but is in bad condition. I never had to hit a ball out of crab grass before this course. The rough was loaded with crab grass. I liked the layout but they need to get rid of the weeds.

I live near Chisel so it's usually a course I play every year. This was the first year I came back a second time. Tickle me SURPRISED because this course has really turned around. It used to be a wasteland of dead grass, weeds and just generally unplayable conditions. I honestly thought the course was closing and ran out of money at one point.

The golf pro is the same and friendly as usual. I don't know if the ownership has changed or maybe the superintendent but over the past 3 or so years it has become a golf course again. The greens are smooth, the fairways are clean and it's a great price and option for anyone in Chester county now.

The only issue is it can get crowded and you can wait. I guess that's the problem once a course looks really good and plays well. So golf there early in the morning or late to maybe avoid the crowds.

I'm almost considering becoming a member but I'm a cheap old man. I think if I do another round there in the fall, I'll probably be signing up.
