Fun Golf Course
The golf course: Excellent in all ways except the bunkers. Very hard sand. I was in 6 and and on 5 of those shots my sand wedge bounced into the ball. Very firm bunkers.
Pace of Play: Tuesday afternoon (12:50 tee time) it took just over 5hrs.!!! When I arrived at the course you drive through much of the back nine and I could see it was pretty backed up. In the parking lot you can see the first hole and it was empty with no one waiting to tee off from the time I got there at 12:30. I was told we had to start at No. 10. Knowing how backed up it was I asked if we (a twosome) could just tee off No. 1. "Nope" with no explaination!! I am not exaggerating when I tell you we had to wait on EVERY shot for 18 holes. No ranger present. Finally figured out the problem on No. 16. a par 3. We had two groups on the tee, and one on the green. Another group on No.17 tee, and then "THE PROBLEM" on No.17 fairway. 4 guys looking for one ball, all with beers in their hand. No one in front of them. While this group was the cause of the slow play, it was the lack of a ranger that ultimately allowed it to happen. I can go to any of the city owned golf courses and deal with that. Here I expect a higher level of attention to be paid to activity on the golf course.
All that being said, I'll come back if I can get a Golf Now deal and hope I get around faster.
Great shape
I have been here multiple times over the years. Each time the course was in great shape. This round was no exception. The course was in great shape. It was a true pleasure to play.
Definitely one for bucket list
Played many top courses in Michigan. This course is beautiful , challenging. It keeps you on your game. Course was in perfect shape day of play . Definitely in one of my top courses played .
Magnificent
Staff Great, Fairway are Great , Greens we're in Great shape not as fast as usual , overall one of the Best Around
A Must Play
The course was in excellent condition. Lush fairways, fast greens (even while dew covered) and deep rough. Holes were longish from the Black tees, with doglegs and changes in elevations.I usually drive it about 250y, only one of the par 5s was reachable in two for me. Rough and natural areas were punishing. Bunkers were deep.
Pace of play: Good.
Felt slow, but we played in just under 4 hours, waited on every hole, but could tell that the log jam was 3 groups ahead, the two groups in front of us were waiting, too.
Logistics: Heritage Hill is a short driver from downtown Louisville. Played after severe storms but the course had drained pretty well. It was cart paths only.. Nice range and putting greens. Average club house and small, but well-stocked, pro shop.
Walkability: I don't think you should walk. I usually walk, even when it's the same price to ride,, but this course would be super tough. Lots of distance between greens and next tee boxes and several long, step inclines. Don't do it.
course courtesy
have tried to play this course 4 times and yet have we ever finished due to it gettn dark! started at 4:30 pm this time and didnt get the last hole in due to being to dark. 9pm there was only 2 of us. groups of 4 in front of us were very slow! they looked for every ball they lost due to they couldn't keep it in the fairway! bushes, fields etc. no courtesy whatsoever to people behind them!!
Very enjoyable course
Well maintained, beautiful layout and the staff was very friendly
2nd times a charm
Played this course last summer, liked it a lot. Had to come back and try it again this summer. Everything I liked about the course last year I really liked this year. Course conditions were great, staff was excellent. The off course amenities got an "average" rating for the lack of food choices, bar seating area and an un-shaded gravel parking lot. But that is nit picking. If you're in the Louisville area stop in and enjoy a round you won't be disappointed.
Great Course
The course has a great layout with absolutely perfect zoysia fairways and bent greens. I was paired up with 2 members (Ranger Wendell and Jim) and they made the round even more enjoyable. Will play again next time I'm in the area.
Great Course!
Heritage Hill has lots of very good holes, scenic and challenging. The zoysia fairways are perfect to hit from, and the greens were soft and fast. I highly recommend this course...I just wish it were closer to my home.
In excellent condition...
Beautiful course, excellent shape. Thorough grounds crew. Fun and still challenging. Great staff. Carts are new. They excel in service. If I lived closer, definitely a course I'd want to be a member of!
Poor Treatment
At Ranger's request we graciously let two different twosomes of local pros playing matches go through. While members of our group went into clubhouse at the turn to SPEND MONEY, another group jumped ahead of us. With 4 holes to go Ranger hassles us about speeding up our play. He had added time to our round already. We finished in 4 hr 30 min with not much experience at this course. Course was good, treatment poor. 4 1/2 hrs is considered a good pace for a 4some, much less with nearly 30 minutes delay for being courteous. We were not playing slowly.
4 1/2 hours is slow for a foursome under any circumstances.
