Yes Please!
Getting to knock the ball around an 45 degree day in February was a real treat. Cart path only due to the rain and snow over the last few weeks. Plugging balls and damp spots were to be expected due to the weather. All that being said, the course was remarkably playable. Great views too. Bring your long irons, hybrids, & fairway metals, the course plays long especially in the colder weather.
Winter conditions
Very nice course. The fairways were winter brown, but everything was in good shape still. The layout was challenging at times and the views were pretty. It was cart path only on a few holes, but it had been wet for a while before we played. The staff was pleasant and courteous. I hope to play there again when things green up.
Thank you, tbreidert, for the excellent review! We appreciate you understanding why some of the holes were cart path only. Please come and see us again soon!
Bad day at Heritage Hill
Never had trouble before BUT. Had a 1:10 tee time which was going to be close as to getting in 18 before sunset, well we get there only to find out the tee time have been pushed back 30 to 40 minutes do to frost ok understandable and now its cart path only as well even though it hadnt rained in three days. Ok were waiting and waiting and nobody is being called to first tee thats because there is a junior tournament going on and they are spread all over the course, its now 1:55 so i go in to find out how much longer before we can tee off and thats when im told to go tee off on #10. Ok were at the tee and whats there?? One tournament group on the green, another in the fairway waiting and a group on the tee waiting. no way were getting 18 in now, we did get a refund, kudos for that. My question is WHY were they even taking tee times with a junior tournament all over the course?? I never would have booked Heritage Hill knowing that and could have played somewhere else but instead we wasted a 65 degree November day.
Hi, mustangrob, thank you for the review and the feedback. We unfortunately had a youth tournament run long, unexpectedly. We sincerely regret that this resulted in a poor experience for you. We hope you come and play with us again soon to get the real Heritage Hill experience. Thank you and have a great day!
Couldn't wait
Arrived 30 mins early to warm up and they pushed our tee time back 2 hrs. That's a long time for frost. Couldn't wait.
Hi Kent2606475,
Yes, unfortunately, frost leaves the grass very fragile so having anyone play on it could really damage the conditions. We had hoped it would clear sooner but weather, as you know, can be very fickle this time of year. We hope to see you out there again soon. Thank you!
Heritage Hills Golf
Have played this course five times this summer. Every time has been in great shape. Is one of my choices for best value around. We travel weekly and this is a good one.
Hi u000004961757
Thank you for your review, we are happy that over multiple visits our course is holding up to our high standards!
Hope to see you for another round.
Thanks again!
Heritage Hill Management
Best public course in the area
Come from Ohio to visit my in-laws every few months. Best public course in the area.
Thank you for the excellent review, Mlaing389! We hope to see you on the course when you're in town again.
Beautiful scenery
Well maintained fairways.
As reported, greens were recently aerated.
Will definitely be back!
Thanks for your great review, uOGLW5724OG! We hope to see you back out there again!
Great even for the average golfer
Wide fairways that are in great shape and overall fun course to play. 18 is a tee off a hill that is hands down my favorite hole.
Awesome course
Great course for a public venue, layout is awesome, generous fairways, greens roll true other than some ball marks on the green, people need to learn how to repair their ball marks. Love this course
Interesting Golf Course
Course was in great shape-a few places with water as had recent rain-greens excellent-fairways and tees great even thought it was Zoysia
Great course
Looks great. In great condition. Only complaint is gps. Other than that loved it
Open & beautiful layout
Many long & wide open fairways in excellent condition; struggled to read several greens; muddy & hard packed bunkers; beautiful layout with variable elevations; excellent practice green & driving range
Sick!
Best bang for buck....just 24 min. from home............................................................................................
Wonderful golf course
What a gem of a place! I happened to find this place while visiting and I cannot wait to play it again tomorrow. Great conditioned golf course with a pleasant staff. Super place! One cannot go wrong when deciding to play Heritage Hill.
Always good.
Great course always in good shape. Course allows you to grip and rip most of the time. Great layout with a lot of different looks; links, woods, water, elevation changes, and bunkers.
Awesome Course
This course was in great condition, well manicured, with beautiful scenery!
Best public course
This is the best public course I have played all year. Very challenging beautiful layout very well maintained.
Immaculate Condition, Municipal Experience
The course is a strange layout (reachable par 5, moderately long par 3 to start--2 par 5's in a row), but is always in perfect condition. There are no bad lies on this course, the greens always run true.
However, the staff makes the playing experience worse than one would expect at the city courses in Louisville (Cherokee, Seneca, ect). The grounds crew does not stop mowing/driving while players are hitting. The marshal stopped and took one of my balls while I was playing (on a par 5 that I went for in 2 and hit multiple shots at the green, one ended up long and near a cart path--I was on the green and hadn't gone to pick it up yet). The shop attendant charged me the regular rate, rather than the rate I had agreed to pay on GolfNow, and told me that I *had to* tee off 45 minutes prior to my tee time. And finally, the 19th hole feels more like a bar than a snack shop after about 3 pm.
I've played this course about a half dozen times, and I've always had a little trouble with the staff (one time they refused me range balls, when GolfNow states they are included with the tee-time; not having carts ready on a slow day), but the mere condition of the course is worth the drive and inconvenience caused by a staff not suited for a municipal course.
I have been playing at Heritage Hill for several years now and I have received nothing but excellence from the staff. From the moment I arrive at the course, I am welcomed at my car with a cart from one of their friendly cart attendants. In my experience, the pro shop staff has always been top notch. They are very accommodating and go out of their way to ensure everyone has a great time. Heritage Hill is still the best public course in the Louisville area and I will continue to play out there as much as I can!
This course offers fun and challenge.
The layout is interesting with moderate difficulty and plenty of elevation changes. The course is certainly not boring. Greens are tough with pin placements and offer many chances for 3 putts. Overall in great condition and fun for all levels of golfers.
Still the Best Golf in the Louisville Area
HH is still the best public course in the area, by a long shot. From tee to green the turf was in great shape. The pace of play was fantastic. As a foursome we let a twosome and threesome through, but after that we never had anyone waiting on us or had to wait on those in front of us and still finished in just over four hours. The staff was top notch as well, very friendly and helpful.
If you're whining about the price, then you shouldn't be out there anyway. Besides, no one wants to hear you complain.
Thanks for the great feedback and advice, Ryan4312348! We hope to see you back out here soon!
