This course offers fun and challenge.
The layout is interesting with moderate difficulty and plenty of elevation changes. The course is certainly not boring. Greens are tough with pin placements and offer many chances for 3 putts. Overall in great condition and fun for all levels of golfers.
Still the Best Golf in the Louisville Area
HH is still the best public course in the area, by a long shot. From tee to green the turf was in great shape. The pace of play was fantastic. As a foursome we let a twosome and threesome through, but after that we never had anyone waiting on us or had to wait on those in front of us and still finished in just over four hours. The staff was top notch as well, very friendly and helpful.
If you're whining about the price, then you shouldn't be out there anyway. Besides, no one wants to hear you complain.
Lower the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Green fee is outrageous for a public course. 60 dollars on the weekend. I play at country clubs for less, way less. Cut the green fees in half and I'll be out there every weekend. With these prices I'll continue to play there once a year. It's definitely a really nice course but the green fee is ridiculous.
Great golf course!
A buddy and I really enjoyed playing heritage hills! Would highly recommend the drive to this creatively designed course! Will definitely be back!
Love this course
Fairways and tees have come in very nicely, zoysia I believe. Considerable rain the week before made the course wet, but we only had to stay off 2 fairways. Greens were relatively slow due to wetness but were in good shape. Played lift / clean / place due to mud balls in fairway, but bunkers had been worked and were good to hit out of. Rough was cut a reasonable height and played fair but did affect difficulty of the shots from there. I like the track and always enjoy playing HH.
Escape from reality
Every hole at Heritage Hill comes with its own unique character. This course allows you to enjoy the freedom of golf. Groups are never stacked on top of one another as only a few holes run parallel to one another. This course has several "signature" holes for golfers to enjoy. I played many nice courses during my collegiate career, and I would put this one up against any of them. I highly recommend Heritage Hill!
Fantastic Track
Course was in really good shape for this early in the year. Very challenging with many sets of tees for all levels of play. Course layout is fantastic and many, many types of holes with none being similar. This course is very much worth playing if you ever get the chance. Will be playing again soon and many more times again in the future.
nice course, tough rough
the course was in really good condition. the greens were fairly fast and smoothing out after being aerated about a month ago. the rough was a little too deep for most amateurs including myself. hope to play therr again soon.
Very fun course!!
First time playing the course & really enjoyed it. Staff is extremely friendly & accommodating. Would highly recommend taking the time to play this course.
Kentucky's best all in one great course
You'll love it. Beautiful course and while technical at times it offers a great balance for all levels of players.
you will use every club in your bag.
great track; no simple holes & very challenging layout. out of fairway too tall-to much rain lately.
Great views
A hidden gem near Louisville . Just here to be a the Kentucky Derby . Very challenging from the Blue Tees. Beautiful course design
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
One of the few times I ventured away from my home course where I'm a member, this experience may have kept me from making the same mistake again! From the moment we teed off the was immediate concern about the log jam before we had hit our first shot. Our tee time was delayed for 30 minutes to start. Secondly as we stepped up too the tee box after being told we were on the tee over the loss speaker,I noticed there was a foursome in the fairway waiting on another foursome on the green. Right off the bat I noticed that groups weren't being correctly spaced for enjoyable pace of play. Regardless I took an easy going approach , hoping to see groups spread out over the front nine. That never happened. After a call to the club house (regarding the back up ) and 2hrs & 45 minutes we finished up on the 6th green. As I drove up to the club house to speak to the GM I noticed yet again 3 groups on the first hole bunched together yet another sign of over booking. I was given the explanation of it just being a nice day and a lot of people being out. That was clearly not the case........it was a simple case of over booking, that of course was denied by the GM of Heritage Hill. I asked for a refund due to the fact I didn't have 6 hrs to play a round of golf. I was told the only option was a rain check. I was not satisfied with this, why would I want to deal with the same poor playing conditions and obvious miss management??? How can I be told that groups were being sent off ten minutes at a time when there were 3 groups on the 1st hole before we teed off, three math doesn't add up. Sacrificing a players quality of play for stacking a tee sheet for profit is no way to manage a golf course. When there is 10-15 minutes between shots, that calls for revamping of tee time policies. A well run tee sheet should have a group tee off as the group ahead of them is on that hole's green allowing for proper group showing and a more enjoyable experience. It's absurd to ask players to play under those conditions our spend.6hrs attempting to finish a round of golf. I wouldn't recommend Heritage Hill where cramming as many tee times in takes priority over quality of play. Nor would I recommend a place where they refuse to refund your round, and they expect you to use a rain check to come back and experience the same log jam again!!!!! Don't waste your time
Great course
Heritage Hills is a beautiful course with great staff and a just a terrific layout. We played on Masters Sunday, April 12, and the pace was slow... 4:45 long with a foursome in front us that kept us from moving at a decent pace. Tee boxes were great. Fairways were filling in. Areas around the green were filling in and a bit more penal than usual. Bunkers were in great shape.
Biggest problem with the course was the condition of the greens. The greens had been aerated at some point in the prior two or three weeks (my guess), but we didn't know that and were not told that. The greens were exceedingly bumpy and hadn't been rolled, probably due to all the rain in recent days/weeks. Ball didn't roll true and that made the round a little less enjoyable.
The wild turkey that followed us from the No. 4 tee box through the No. 8 fairway was a neat little nature addition...never know what you'll see at HHGC.
Always a great place to play
A cold December day and I still had fun..it was a good day to work on my game... Great golf course
Very well kept and challenging but not impossible
This Golf Course is great. Challenging holes with a beautiful layout but playable for even beginners...good length but manageable and true greens. Yes the price is up there but the quality of Golf included in that price is understand. Highly recommend a round there, especially if you've never been...but if you have been you've already planned on going back
19 Oct playing
Course was in fair shape, they had punched the greens and made no comment about it before we headed out to the tee box, you couldnt make a putt because of that, but the rest of the course was playable
Thank you for your review as your opinion is very important to us. I apologize that you were not informed of the aerification prior to booking your tee time. Our staff is instructed to inform patrons of the aerification for two weeks from completion and the date in which you played was beyond that point. We will certainly evaluate our current policy and make any necessary changes.
Good
I think the price from Golf now is good valu. But the price Heriage is over priced
Favorite course in the area
This was the third time I played Heritage Hill and as always, I had a great time. Fairways were perfect. Rough was challenging but well manicured. Bunkers were easy to play. Greens had been aerated recently so they were a little faster than normal and slightly bumpy but I expected that. Overall, I LOVE this course. It's just challenging enough to be fun and makes you think twice about your shots. I've played a lot of courses in the greater Louisville area and this is, by far, the best public course Louisville has to offer.
Really worthwhile playing
I'm an 18 handicap and found the course challenging from the whites. My buddy played from the golds and we had a great time. Course was in good shape and the greens seemed to be coming back from being aerated but were in good shape considering that.
Beautiful scenery, nice layouts and just great elevated tees on some of the holes made you stop and enjoy the view. We both will be playing this course again and I have already told more of my friends that this is one to try.
I played HH once a couple years ago. The greens were gone. When I called for a tee time I asked how are the greens? The staff said they were great, only one green was burnt up. The price was double what it should have been, especially with the course in that condition. Probably should have been shut down to play entirely! This left me with such a bad reflection of the course and staff that I never went back. It will take a course manager with some Public Relations background to maximize this facility. Too many other courses around to compete with. From reading the other more recent posts a management change apparently has not happened. What a shame the course could be a fun place to golf if it were maintained, priced accordingly, and the staff knew what they were doing.
sounds like you need to go play a muni, try moving to california and playing on a weekend. $60 for one of the top 3 layouts in the state for a weekend is a good deal.
