Great course
Heritage Hills is a beautiful course with great staff and a just a terrific layout. We played on Masters Sunday, April 12, and the pace was slow... 4:45 long with a foursome in front us that kept us from moving at a decent pace. Tee boxes were great. Fairways were filling in. Areas around the green were filling in and a bit more penal than usual. Bunkers were in great shape.
Biggest problem with the course was the condition of the greens. The greens had been aerated at some point in the prior two or three weeks (my guess), but we didn't know that and were not told that. The greens were exceedingly bumpy and hadn't been rolled, probably due to all the rain in recent days/weeks. Ball didn't roll true and that made the round a little less enjoyable.
The wild turkey that followed us from the No. 4 tee box through the No. 8 fairway was a neat little nature addition...never know what you'll see at HHGC.
Always a great place to play
A cold December day and I still had fun..it was a good day to work on my game... Great golf course
Very well kept and challenging but not impossible
This Golf Course is great. Challenging holes with a beautiful layout but playable for even beginners...good length but manageable and true greens. Yes the price is up there but the quality of Golf included in that price is understand. Highly recommend a round there, especially if you've never been...but if you have been you've already planned on going back
19 Oct playing
Course was in fair shape, they had punched the greens and made no comment about it before we headed out to the tee box, you couldnt make a putt because of that, but the rest of the course was playable
Good
I think the price from Golf now is good valu. But the price Heriage is over priced
Favorite course in the area
This was the third time I played Heritage Hill and as always, I had a great time. Fairways were perfect. Rough was challenging but well manicured. Bunkers were easy to play. Greens had been aerated recently so they were a little faster than normal and slightly bumpy but I expected that. Overall, I LOVE this course. It's just challenging enough to be fun and makes you think twice about your shots. I've played a lot of courses in the greater Louisville area and this is, by far, the best public course Louisville has to offer.
Really worthwhile playing
I'm an 18 handicap and found the course challenging from the whites. My buddy played from the golds and we had a great time. Course was in good shape and the greens seemed to be coming back from being aerated but were in good shape considering that.
Beautiful scenery, nice layouts and just great elevated tees on some of the holes made you stop and enjoy the view. We both will be playing this course again and I have already told more of my friends that this is one to try.
A must play
This course is always in great shape and well manicured. The course was once voted the top course in the Louisville area. Even though it no longer holds that title, it is still one of the top courses to play.
Very challenging and it offers a great scenic layout/view.
You won't go worng with this selection.
deprusty
played this course many many times and it is always in freat shape. great course great value thru golfnow.com. one of the best course in my area and I play 3-5 times a week.
Interesting course
Very interesting course in great shape. A challenge but fun to play. I enjoyed my round and will go back soon.
My Favorite
This course is always in fantastic shape. It is naturally beautiful, very fair, and a joy to play Staff is always friendly and accommodating. I would play it weekly if I had the time and money, but a little expensive in peak season.
Glad I played
I played here because it was highly rated and they carried a left handed golf set although it was probably the cheapest golf set I ever played with. This was the only course I played in KY but it was well worth it. It is a beautiful course with a good mix of tree-lined, water and wide fairway holes. I always rank a course by how well I remember each hole and I can recall every hole on this one. The only downside of this course as mentioned by other reviews is the speed of the greens. According to a local I played with it typically runs 8 or 9 on the stimp meter so not very fast. I would play here again!
best course in louisville area
This course is simply the best!! Nuff said!
from the concrete cart path . To the multiple pictresque holes.
Tee boxes are better than alot of fairways at other courses. Put heritage hill on your must play list!
Beautiful course in excellent condition.
One of my favorite courses in the Louisville area. Very well maintained, beautiful setting, elevation change, great layout. Friendly staff. Love the place.
Heritage Hills
Awesome course, but very expensive. Excellent pace of play, no delays from front and was not getting pushed from behind. Extremely scenic and well kept.
Great course
Play this course. I will again given the chance. Will be back next year
Fantastic course!
I am generally not one to write reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience. First, I was able to land a Hot Deal tee time for less than half if the normal price and it was some of the best money I've spent for golf, thanks Golf Now!! I am glad I saved my emailed receipt, because originally the staff attempted to charge me again after paying in full on the mobile app, but the young man was great once I showed him my receipt. Now, the course, it was fabulous!!!! The fairways, tee box, and even the rough, all terrific. The greens were a little chewed up in spots, but it is late in the year. They were still overall in good shape. Bottom line, the average Joe can truly get a feel of just how nice conditions are for the pros. If you haven't played Heritage Hills, you are honestly missing out on a jewel of a course. I HIGHLY recommend this course, especially through Golf Now!
Beautiful Course
I pulled up, took my bag out of my car, and up came an attendant with my golf cart. He loaded my clubs on the cart and wished me a good round. If that isn't a great first impression I do't know what is!!!
The club house isn't anything fancy but I don't care, I'm there for the golf. The golf course is in very good condition. My only complaint are all the ball marks on the greens. The greens are not very firm and therefore they putt very slowly. I'm assuming that since they are so soft, that's what's causing all the ball marks. But that's just an uneducated guess. Of course there are the usual assortment of unrepaired ball marks which doesn't help. The fairways are very wide and inviting. Elevated greens and deep bunkers make for an excellent challenge. Keep in mind I play mainly municipal golf courses so this was a nice change. Some very nice elevated tee's, especially #18 which is "way" up there.
I really enjoyed my time there and will definitely came back!!!
The staff is first rate!!!
Well kept course
A little pricey but very well maintained. Fairways and greens are excellent.
Best Course I've Played in Kentucky Yet!!
I've played quite a few courses through Golf Now and had not felt the urge to write a review about a course until today. I've played quite a few courses up here in the Louisville to Bardstown area since moving up from Florida a couple years ago, and after playing a round today at Heritage Hill. Even with a light drizzle of rain on & off throughout the first 12 holes or so, the course was AMAZING & in by far the best shape from Tee to Green that I've seen thus far of any course I've played here. The course's drainage system is setup perfectly, with no spots on standing water that I saw on any fairway through all 18 even with a day of rain. The fairways were pristine, soft & manicured. The sand in the bunkers, even while wet, were playable for the most part and weren't too hard or clumpy. The greens had some noticeable divot marks but rolled nicely & offered some tricky little breaks that make you need to focus & read them well. Not too fast though so you can be aggressive with longer putts.
Probably the best part besides the condition of the course were the views. A few steeply downhill holes (Par 3's, Par 4's & 5's) that gave peaceful & scenic picture worthy shots. Especially the Par 3 #11 over water (video attached), with a couple stone walls & surrounded by big trees.
All in all, definitely would be worth the usual $60 per round price tag, but I hit the jackpot with a "Hot Deal" for $17.99 at 1 pm. Will DEFINITELY be playing here again, especially if I can find another deal like that!
Thank you for your review as your opinion is very important to us. I apologize that you were not informed of the aerification prior to booking your tee time. Our staff is instructed to inform patrons of the aerification for two weeks from completion and the date in which you played was beyond that point. We will certainly evaluate our current policy and make any necessary changes.
