Frog Hollow Golf Club

About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Aces!
From the pro shop to the starter to the bar tender, you feel as if you are a member of the club.
What drought?
Impressed by plush tees and greens although it's hardly rained in the past 6 weeks. And fluffy sand you don't find on compatibly priced courses.
Challenging but Fair
The course recovered magnificently from torrential rains the night before, with minimal wash outs in the bunkers and very few swampy areas. (It was cart path only.) The greens were soft, fast and undulating, and some of the pin placements were diabolical. Fairways were excellent despite the tremendous heat lately. And at $30 thru GN, I will go back as often as I can. Great staff and facilities, with cold water on four holes. Go play it!
Beautiful Course
The course is very well maintained, feels more like a private club. Great pub, excellent turkey club and Reuben, friendly staff.
blue tees plan to play again
Played from the blue tees, first time playing the course. Definitely will return to play again and hoppe to score better as you need to know where to hit your tee shots to set up shots into the greens. Greens were pretty hard in firmness so approach shots and chips were hard to get close to the green. Played with Joe who is one of the starters there, it was his day off. Made the round very enjoyable !
Need to know the course
Nice course, played there a couple years ago. Need ti play a few times to know where to hit the ball. Not obvious on some holes.
Good conditions.. played on a week day so not crowded.
Need better signage for bag drop, is secluded down below and back so hard for a first timer ti find.
Good value
Very good value. Greens are challenging but in excellent condition and force you to learn to read breaks. Do wish there was a true fringe around the greens i- would force you to consider chipping more instead of putting from 30 ft off the green
Needed to get back playing golf after an 8 months nit playing. Course in good condition. Some tough holes. Price was right. Just be ready to hold you temper when putting on the greens. Very sloped! Not one green flat. Challenging to read the breaks on the green. Some drastic run off on some greens.
Nice upgrades
Been 4 months since last visit
They continue work with bunkers
Got the chance to use a couple and it was consistent for all my hits
The course is definitely well irrigated and it was a blast hitting onto the greens as they hold nicely
And as always the staff is very friendly which includes all the greens keepers
Just one complaint
The course is in excellent shape. Difficult undulated green are a big challenge, there were a few bumpy spots .
Fairway and tee boxes are fine, there are many bunkers throughout.
The good news re water containers on the course to refill your water bottle. They are located strategically. .
The bad news, is that both containers on the box were empty.
