RACIST GOLF COURSE> STAY AWAY> DO NOT GIVE MONEY>

For one of my employees birthdays, it was decided that we would go golfing. The course that was chosen was Deerfield Golf Club. We work in the area and our employee has always wanted to play the course, so for his birthday we decided to take them out and play. As electrical contractors we unfortunately had a last-minute emergency call and had to arrive in the work vehicle, barely making our tee time. We tee'd off at 12:40 and made the turn at approximately 1:55-2:05. We were told to hurry up because we were behind. Mind you the people behind us were still mid fairway 1 hole behind. The person manning the snack house was not there, so we decided to for-go our turn snack and proceed to the 10th hole. At approximately 2:10, we were hitting on the 11th t-box when the ranger approached us again saying we were slow and needed to pick up the pace. He then proceeded to tell us that he would not leave and would FOLLOW US during our round. We then decided that it would be best is we leave the course. PGA rules state that 15 min per hole is acceptable for play making 2:15 min per 9 holes. we were under and didn't stop at turn giving us what should be an extra 15 min grace period. Upon arrival at the pro-shop we were met with absolutely no refutation about asking for a FULL refund. My Hispanic worker was then told by the pro-shop desk to "do not come back". We were all floored after hearing that comment. The ranger then affirmed to me that he can't be racist cause he is Greek. whatever that means. Fast forward to about 6pm after a phone call to the PGA manager, finally called me back. He confirmed that we in fact were not playing behind on the front 9 but since the people ahead of us were playing fast we were now behind (even though we were playing faster than PGA rules allow, 15 min per hole). He then said that they were not a racist club but when questioned why we were kicked off course and not the extremely nice lady who was put with us who happened to be WALKING. She was allowed to continue on her "slow play". Janette if you are reading this, we apologize for any inconvenience this RACIST club may have caused. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SYAY AWAY FROM THIS CPOURSE. THEY ARE RACIST RACIST RACIST.

Not sure who's at fault - as both Derfield Golf course in Newark DE AND Golf Now- neither want to " do the right thing'- and credit my 4 foursome- as we only played 9 holes on 4/27/24- due to the pouring rain. The clubhouse said' You have to get your credit through Golf Now"- Golf now says no???? I also paid for insurance. If both Derfield Golf and Golf Now think this is good customer service- then MY FOURSOME LEARNED SOMETHING TODAY BOTH ABOUT Golf Now AND Deerfield GC iT REALLY SHOULDN'T BE HARD TO ' DO THE RIGHT THING HERE FOLKS "

Hills all the way through this course never give you a flat lie. Combine that with some fast greens and you have yourself a little challenge here. Snag a discount on GolfNow and get a good deal to boot.

One of my favorites up and down and all around a gem

Third time playing this track. Greens were the worst part. Hairy and slow and covered with tree debris. Still showing signs of last October's aeration. Course layout is unique and challenging. Drove almost an hour because it was an excellent price. Cart path only because it is Winter and we had a lot of rain 3 days earlier.

Can’t go wrong playing here!! Elevations very and it’s challenging! Well kept!!

Played on a beautiful afternoon.

Course is in tremendous condition. Greens and Fairways were very green. Tee boxes spread out to allow healing for different sections. Greens have a ton of undulation.

Not an easy course to walk. Two holes had 50+ feet drops or inclines, each.

One major downside is the number of blind shots, either up or downhill doglegs.

It is fall golf, so lots of difficulty in finding golf balls in rough.

Rough is very thick, more do than a typical public course.

I got it for under 50 w/ cart, but cart path so had to walk plenty.

Will definitely be back.

First time playing this course great layout ,rolling hills and elevation changes make this a challenging course to play.Easily one of the best courses we played all year,nice country club feel…can’t wait ti play again!

Beautiful course, most on the mountain angles so you don't know where your ball is going unless you play this a few times.. Recommend if you want a challenge.. We played with a local so we got lots of tips.

The course has a leaf control issue early and most of the leaves are gathering around the greens which leads to LOST BALLS within 25’ of the fringe. It was frustrating since several holes are blind, you know it’s close but it’s GONE. GRRRRRR

Only need the leaves mulched not blown or the staff passes out 2 sleeves of balls for the failure to address the issue. No reason for this.

But this course is great, trying, demanding and just plain fun.

The course is in fabulous shape and folks are doing a great job with ball marks in the greens. The issue is there are a lot of blind shots which leads to lost balls in and about the fairways. Granted I wasn’t in the woods or close to them but on the first hole ball just plain gone somewhere under a lot of leaves in front of the green. The issue is they should have a least mulched the leaves since they aren’t everywhere. If not then give out 2 sleeves of balls to make up for fairway balls lost due to poor planning on the courses duties.

I really enjoy this course but won’t return for 6 weeks in hopes the leaves are done.
