White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
About
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park is a challenging but playable layout that is well known amongst locals. At just over 7,000 yards, the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards come into play on most holes, demanding several difficult forced carries. There are also some spots on the course that can be quite narrow. The terrain is mostly flat but the layout provides enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. White Clay Creek has a strong reputation not only for the golf course but also for its various amenities, which give it the feel of a private club. Staff assists you with getting your clubs to and from your car and use of the driving range and chipping green are included in the reasonable fee.

Golfer Reviews
Pace of play slow
Went out as a pair and caught the group ahead of us ,who kindly let us play through. But after that the pace of play was incredibly slow for a Monday afternoon. The group in front of us was terribly slow and the ranger did nothing to hurry the process, Two of the group were dressed in T-shirts! This course gets a lot of acclaim, but if you can't dress appropriately and can barely hit a golf ball, this course is NOT for you!!!And these type of golfers shouldn't be allowed on the course. Staff was very friendly and facilities are top notch.
Just Aerated Greens
Little disappointed as the greens had been aerated. There wasn't a aeration marker on the Golf Now icon so obviously I wasn't expecting sand to blow like a crater when hitting the greens. However, the rest of the course was in pretty good shape. Still pretty wet, as would be expected. I would definitely wait a couple more weeks (as of 4/3).
Birthday round
Course was in very good shape for time of year. Fairways were on the very soft side, plugged several tee shots in the fairways, including one lost ball. Greens rolled very well, although they were frozen about 1/2 inch or so below the surface, which made for some bounces and extended rolls on high shots into the greens. But, for the time of year, the overall experience was great.
Thanks for the review B squared. Love the passion and detail this time of year. Can't wait to see you at WCCCC when the temps are a bit more human. This stuff reminds me of my days working a fishing boat on the Cape!
Great for December
Great course. Lots of trouble. Trust the GPS. There are some long carries off the tee if you get greedy.
Greens are large and fair. They were in good condition for December.
Great challenging course...but bring extra balls
This was my second time playing this course. It is very challenging. For a beginner golfer, I would not recommend. There is lots of water and forced carries. Smart players will lay up. Some of the carries are very long. The course was in great condition. Some soft spots on the fairways, but still in excellent condition and the greens were excellent. The pin placements were mostly in the front or back. They were alternating pin placements whereby the group in front of you would place the flag in the opposite cup. They were doing this because it was towards the end of the season and wanted to keep the greens nice. So when we were finished with one hole, we had to move the flag to the opposite cup. Staff is very friendly. You cannot walk this course as you would have to add 30+ extra minutes of walking for 18 holes. 4.5 hours for the average golfer is stretching it. Even if you are an average player, you could loose 6-10 balls in a round. Add the 2 minutes allowed for looking for a ball, which is common, and that alone can set you back with time. The ranger came around 3 times, just to check-up on everyone. We were playing at a good pace but just barely finished in 5 hours. . You won't be disappointed in playing this course.
Excellent course...will give you the opportunity to use every club in the bag and stratgize. A thinking man's golf course
Excellent course...makes you use every club in the bag....going back in the spring when the course is in full bloom
Great if your not thirsty.
The course, the people etc., etc., etc. were all great except for the fact that for the third time in a row many water coolers were empty! The first time was in the middle of the summer on a very hot day with mostly cart path only, and we complained to the marshal. I don.t think we got results. The last day was Veterans Day and again missing water! The CEO director of golf said there was water, went by the cooler again I guess I don't know how to press the button.
Hi Beans,
Thanks for posting your review, we always appreciate feedback and love the fact that you liked the course so much. Sounds like we've got an H2O issue that I'll follow up on, my apologies on that. Feel free to me email directly at whiteclaycreekrm@gmail.com and I'll make sure the loose ends are tied up.
Great Course
Great course, that requires you to be accurate on your drives as it is not a wide open track. Beware, there is no halfway house so if there is not a cart girl there will not be food or beer opportunities
A Must Play!
Great course offers many challenges. A true test for all.
Its in great condition, Green is rolling nicely.
It was a windy day so it played a little harder, but the course is in great shape. the 19th hole special is a bonus!
Thanks for all the kind words tman! We appreciate you playing the course and we're thrilled you took the time to post the review. Wish I had seen you in the 19th Hole & thanks for mentioning the special! ;-)
Beautiful Golf Course
The course was in great shape. Very scenic golf holes, nice layout.
Overall the course was in very good condition
Very good value, friendly staff and enjoyable course layout.
Only negative - a few greens on the back nine need work.
5 Star Course -- and a great practice area
The condition of the course was outstanding, the crew and staff were extremely friendly and helpful..I love playing a course that makes you use every club in the bag..Our group stayed for lunch and had a great meal to top it off..
Thanks for the kind words Penguin! Hope to see you next time you're at the course.
Almost perfect
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, no club house at the turn or anywhere on the course to get food/beer/water! Other than that perfect course.
Better buy some balls
This course is a true rose. Natural beauty but sharp talons. Without GPS in the carts you could go through a dozen balls. Lots of forced layups and waist areas lurking everywhere. If your game is sharp you could see scarlet boxes on the scorecard but if you can't keep it straight you might need a bandage, and a drink. Only thing keeping from a 5 star is the lack of food or drinks on the course.
Beautiful course in great condition
Played course on morning with a frost delay with a 10;50 tee time and even though the first group of the day went off at 10:15 the staff did a good job of getting the golfers out on the course and we teed off only about 15 min. late. There was a little waiting on the first four holes but moved very well after that. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice driving range and practice area which is included in price. Course is challenging with a nice mix of holes. The par 5's are well designed and memorable. Will definitely be back again.
Outstanding facility, Practice,Course , staff,
Very challenging course. Show up early to take advantage of the Great practice area, Staff is very accommodating , they make sure that they attend to any issues
Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. We think our course is for everyone and we'll continue to work to help speed pace of play. We want to help grow the game.
