A Busy Thursday at Capri!
This was the first time playing this course. I actually thought I had booked Calusa Lakes. When I arrived for a 2:20-tee time, the parking lot was jammed. Luckily, I had a tee time because there was a huge group going off right behind us. I did not know the other 3 golfers, but they were cordial and very friendly and we had a lot of fun. The golfer I rode with needed to leave after 9 for a dinner reservation. We 3 continued on to the back 9. My golf cart lost its charge on hole 11, but a call to the pro shop, after 5 pm, went unanswered. So, I grabbed the bag and off I went walking. I started hopping on the back of the other cart just to stay ahead of the 4 some behind us. A ranger did show up at hole 17 to see that I did have ride in. He told us that a bank of cart chargers failed, and they had a good number of dead golf carts in the afternoon.
So I fell into an adventure other than just golfing at a new course! There was no mention of a refund or comps for the trouble I had. Se la vi!
DM
Staff is friendly and helpful. Course is challenging with lots of water in play. Large volume of rounds impacts course condition but it is generally in good repair.
Nice course, first time playing, some blind shots ,scorecard doesn't have course layout would help, will play again
Good layout, but below average conditions
We played on a Friday afternoon after it had rained in the morning. First impression was of an older club and course. The pro shop and clubhouse were small, but the atmosphere and staff were very friendly. The starter was great, got us out early in order to avoid a bunch of slower players. As others have described, the course has an interesting layout, with good quality greens and bunkers, but poor threadbare fairways except for a few on the back nine. We saw the cart girl once all day, but that was probably because the back nine was cart path only due to the rain and a number of groups quit after nine. We paid $90 each and felt that this was way overpriced for the overall quality. We are unlikely to play it again.
Capri
Course was in average condition. Pace of play was 31/2 hours. Not a difficult layout, played the same ball for first round of the year
Not A Bad Vacation Golf Course
Booked this course last minute as a single. Got paired up with three others, and had a good time. The course is nice, has a somewhat challenging layout. Make sure you have a gps while playing here as some of the holes are tight, and have water in which you cannot see from the tee box.
Conditions weren’t bad. Dormant rough, but the greens were ok. Fairways (most) need some work. Bunkers were nice and white, perfect.
Not a bad choice while on vacation. Waterlefe is worth the extra money to play.
Capri Isles
Greens and traps in good shape. Rest of the course in OK shape. Course winds through condo and home development. Sometimes it seems the houses are too close for comfort. Very nice people in pro shop and snack bar. Will go back again .
