Willowbrook Golf Course

It's been 15 years since I last played here and I can assure you back then the place was a complete train crash. Forward to now....... The course has improved beyond recognition. The staff were very engaging and buying into the new owners efforts to improve in every area.

The course has always been a good layout but with improvements (beyond recognition) to the tees, fairways and greens, it makes it a fun and enjoyable experience to play.

Yes there is still work to do (some cart paths and the clubhouse) but Rome wasn't built in a day and I'm confident that those areas, in the fullness of time, will be addressed by the owners.

The only real negative for me was not seeing our old friend, the three legged gator!! I'm told he's still around.

My wife and I decided at the last minute to golf when the weather turned out better than forcasted. We tried at the higher end course where we stay but they were booked solid. I looked online and found Willlowbrook. I have been here 5 years and didn't even know it was close by. Being the only course we could get a tee time for we decided to give it a go. We jumped in the car and drove the short distance to the address, missed the entrance and turned around. Not much signage and a small block building for the clubhouse were easy to miss. The inside of the club house was good, there was a nice bar area and the staff were outstanding.

What a pleasant surprise playing the first hole! Tree lined fairway that are in very good shape, crown greens that were fast and true and plenty of challenge, and it only got better with the next 17.

This is definitely my first goto course when my home course is full. And maybe my first when I want to save some money.

The only thing Unfortunately was the pace very slow and there was no Marshall in sight

Challenging course with true rolling greens. Rate of play better than most local places.

First time here, and like most of my course selections, I went based off reviews. Older clubhouse needs a redo. Range was fine with newer range balls. Course has a nice layout with some dog legs and plenty of water in play. The pins were in some awful positions. I don’t normally complain about that it’s part of the game. But there were several holes cut 6 feet from the fringe. On one par 3, the hole was cut far right on a down/side slope. Putting from the side or left of the hole rolled off the green. Putt back up if it stopped hole high it rolled all the way back down. 3 groups on the hole had the same issue. Just poor planning and wrecks pace of play. The course is also very soft in front of the greens. So don’t try and bounce anything up. Overall, it was pretty good and I would return. Proper pin placements are needed.

The place is a dog track. Very beat-up. Rude staff in the grill.

The pace was ridiculous, I left after getting through 10 holes in 3 hours, 5 hour rounds kill my game. I lose interest.

Pin placements were set like it was tournament Sunday. It really made no sense for the type of players they have there. I'm sure it contributed to the pace of play.

Can’t go wrong making a tee time , the course is challenging and some birdie holes out there
