poor conditions
the fairways were overgrown and the greens were in terrible condition
overall pleased
the view are impressive, nice course nestled in the mountains. mostly green fairways and putting surfaces, had some areas of brown dry grass but at that altitude and with as dry as this yr has been not bad at all.
Great setting and location. Quiet.
I played on a day after a heavy rain and I think they left the sprinklers on also. It was very muddy. Tee boxes were uneven and there were multiple bare spots on fairways and greens. It is an enjoyable course to play, but it needs some maintenance attention.
greens, fairways
They are in bad shape. had to move my ball on a few fairways due to dead grass and rocks. overall coarse layout is nice, just need a new greensmen. no water on coarse or service. but what can you expect for 17 tee time at 11 am. manager got upset because I paid for a threesome and their were only 2 of us, we needed to play a fast 18, so i paid an extra $17 for the extra cart.
The price is right and the distance isn't that far.
The staff are very friendly. Even though the course needs some work, it was still nice playing there. There are enought challenging holes to keep you alert.
affordable country course. sprinkling system needs some work.
Mace meadow is very affordable, and during the week not very busy. Sometimes you have the course to yourself. They have a really laid back attitude there. The pro shop is run by volunteers, so bring your patience.
The course has some water issues. The sprinkling system needs some attention. There are puddles in some areas, and dry patches in others. Some of the sand traps could use some sand.
If you're looking for a fancy club this isn't it, but if you're looking for a laid back round for any level player, this is the place.
I did not know the pro shop was staffed by volunteers, but the one I had on the day I played was rude and dismissive beyond reason. He set a very poor tone for my golf round and I left after only playing 4 holes. I am not allowed to mention his name here but he was a poor ambassador for the course.
Can't believe the intolerance of Guthery. He and a friend go to a mountain golf course which by name and definition is a 'meadow' on April 7, after two days of solid rain, plays for $10.28 each with a cart, and gripes. If you're going to go cheap, at least have sense enough to check course conditions before arriving. Unbelievable.
