Golfer Reviews
Great Course for the Price
Generally, this course has several holes that require a good solid drive to carry the ravines on several holes. There are lots of sand traps to protect the greens and a moderate amount of water overall. So, a good test of many of your golf shots. They use a trailer for a club house which is probably why the cost is so reasonable but the staff are friendly and welcoming.
No clubhouse or beverage cart
Well kept course with a tough layout. Pace was decent staff was friendly price was okay. Wouldn't recommend for new golfers but low handicappers would appreciate the tougher layout. Greens were forgiving but not in the best shape. Roughs were nice and not too long fairway was in good shape but very soft/wet made for some fat shots when your club gets sucked in. No clubhouse is weak and carts not allowed to the parking lot to load clubs bit of a pain but drop off area is reasonable.
Mysteries of Mystyc
Mystic is a tough course. They have made it more player friendly in spots moving the fescue back or sideways. #10 is now a par 6.
All in all a great day, Amazing weather and good playing partners.
Give it an A.
Usually speak highly about this course!!!
People in pro shop, not to friendly. There was a group of 5 in front of us. Also the greens were in rough shape. Usually speak highly about this course. I would now give it a 4 of 10. Sorry I've played cheaper courses and had a better overall experience. Maybe I'll try it again next year, till then don't have much to say about Mystic.
Thanks.
Great Challenging Course
The track has many great holes. Not a course for beginners but well worth the effort for experienced golfers. Be prepared to lose a few balls but have a very good golf experience.
Championship Course
I love the challenge of Mystic. It truly is a championship course and everyone should play it once to see what a championship course design looks like. Every hole is challenging. I really like the challenge. The course is in good shape. The greens keeper was being a joker on two of the cup placements, placing them on false front sections of the greens where the ball could not stop at the hole but would fall back, 25 feet from the cup. Funny guy!
Even with that, I really enjoyed the round.
Course is beautiful and tough
I love playing here. First couple times you play are tough because there are blind shots and par 5's that don't allow you to hit driver off tee but make you think. Greens are usually fast and in good condition. Pace of play has always been good despite how tough this course can play.
Bring all your clubs because you will use every single club in your bag!!!
What a turn around
I have been playing Mystic since it opened in 2005. I truly believe it Is in the best shape of its life. Greens and fairways are finally healthy and rolling the fastest I've seen them. Running around 12-13. The rough is thick and Lush. There is a reason there is 14 clubs in your golf bag. Your going to have to use everyone if you want to score at Mystic!! Only negative comment is the lazy golfnorth members who don't fix their ball marks or their divots.
horrible conditions
I've played this course 3 times in the past. conditions were previously significantly better (though never great). bunkers were closed (completely) because of rain from 2 days previous. greens were terrible. tee blocks were filled with divots. didn't see a single person working on the course. I believe this course is really struggling to stay afloat - which would be too bad. it's a fantastic layout.
Beautiful Course!
My friends and I try to play this course at least once a year because it is quite challenging and absolutely gorgeous! The greens are fast, most with undulations and slopes that make putting an adventure. Many of the fairways cut through a gauntlet of thickly forested valleys and spiced generously with sand traps. If you have a bad slice better bring lots of spare balls. Hole #10 was recently converted to a par 6... really! Holes 9 and 18 force you to tee off over a massive chasm requiring a 200+ yard drive just to GET to the fairway... and if you hit it too far, there's a sand trap waiting as your reward... NICE! All in all, a beautiful and challenging course... have fun!
Challenging Track
This is very well maintained and very challenging track. Perfect for the experienced and low to mid handicapper but not well suited to the beginner or high handicap golfer. Many holes require a long ravine carry off the tee or during a hole and there are limited options to shorten holes or remove obstacles for those with poor distance or power. These golfers will not enjoy it.

Mystic - forced carries and rough
Hadn't played Mystic in a few years and decided to give it another try. It's a nice design and definitely setup for the more advanced player. This course has a significant number of forced carries over hazards, so if you aren't comfortable with that don't play it. I think the course goes over the top on it though as an example hole 10 at 564 yards is listed on the card as a par 6. It has 2 forced carries and to me if a design has to up the par due to that it's a bit of a gimmick. One thing the course can control is the height of the rough, it was way too high and thick. You miss the fairway by 2 yards and in some cases you have no shot. That's not the type of experience recreational golf should provide. Sorry won't play this course again it takes some of the fun out of playing
Good course. Not enjoyable when cart path only
Very interesting layout. Unfortunately there was an all day rain the day before which resulted in cart path only. I have played golf for many years and this is not a fun course to play when restricted to cart paths that are often in a forest and 100 yds from your fairway. I look forward to playing the course again when a cart path does not dominate the day.
Staff , nice but not friendly
No help at all, got my starter receipt and then walked around back looking for power cart, ended up taking one from cart compound, drying my own seats off. Rainy day and no canopies on cart to protect clubs from rain.
After almost 10 years still have a trailer for clubhouse ! No back up generator . T-storm delay had 20+ people inside trailer when power went out and no fans or AC, not nice. Had a warm coffee from pot sitting on counter while rain delay and guy charged us while power was out and coffee not hot
Other than that course is great and very challenging
