Fabulous course
Excellent course in great condition, challenging for the avid golfer. Will defineately be back.
looking nice
well i played here before a couple years back maybe about 3 or 4 now what a difference seems like a new place.
i got to tell you the place looks good nice and green.
i had 4 guys with me we had a great time the pins were in good spots i was killing the ball i loved it!!
i felt really relaxed nice flow of pace parlayed with the beer cart we had a blast be back soon thanks!!
Always a great experience!
I get out to Mystic a few times a year when I'm ready for a true golf challenge. For the price and condition I would rate it best in the area. Not a fancy club house for weddings just a true golfers course. From the first hole with the split fairway it sets the tone for the game. Greens were quick and in great shape. Number 10 is probably one of the most challenging holes i've played, parred it once. I would rate this course as my favourite Golf North property.
Horrible condition, not worth any money at all, staff doesn't care
One of the worst courses I have ever played. In 5 of the bunkers, sand was dumped by staff and not raked. Just a huge lump of sand in the middle of the bunkers. On two holes (see the picture) the weeping pipes were exposed in the bunkers. Yardage markers are grown over. It was not a good golf experience at all. When I tried to talk to the staff in the clubhouse, their response was, yeah, we dumped sand, sorry. Staff didn't care - possibly they've heard it before and management hasn't done anything about it. So many courses care about your golfing dollar, don't give any of your money to this disaster. Go to Piper's Heath in Oakville instead - that's an owner who cares.
Mystic i the heat
COURSE IN REASONABLE CONDITION. GREENS WERE HARD AND THE BUNKERS LACKING SAND, IN SOME OF THE LATTER THE DRAINAGE WEEPING TIMES WERE SHOWING.
PROBABLY TOO MUCH OF A CHALLENGE FOR MID TO HIGH HANDICAPPERS UNLESS OF SHORTER BRONZE TEES THOUGH SOME OF THESE TEE BOXES WERE NOT APPROPRIATE
COURSE KNOWLEDGE DEFINITELY A PLUS
Great Course!
This course is now on the top of the list of favorite courses within Southern Ontario. Great conditions, incredible layout and extremely challenging; can't wait to get out again!
Good Value
I enjoy this course and will continue to play it on a Hot Deal basis.
You have to carry a few gullies!
I thought this course was magnificent. Who knew?
You have to have at least a 'B' game to carry the gullies/hazards/water features and you will have the challenge of a lifetime. The variety of holes and the twists and turns will keep you thinking. Was fortunate to play it with a member(thanks Paul!) and other 'regulars'.The par 3's are outstanding.
Excellent value for money as well.
Will be back!
Challenging course
A thoughtful, well laid out and challenging course. Tests virtually every club in the bag. Despite the rough weather conditions, this was still a fun place to play at. Will definitely go again.
Buterface
We tee'd off at the first hole and I was very impressed with the view, tee box was in great shape also. My first shot found the fairway and lush green surface was under my ball waiting for my 6 iron as a lay up for I didn't know the course well being the first time out there I played smart on this par 5. 3rd shot left me with 60 yards to an elevated green where I stuck a wedge shot which appeared to be 15 feet for my birdie put. As I approached closer to the green my heart sank as I saw 3 feet of dead grass between my ball and the hole, which of course I had no chance on making this put. Sadly the rest of the greens were in the same shape and by the 5th hole I was mentally taken out of the game and didn't really want to be there which was a real shame cause everything else about this course is amazing. It was liking looking at 18 beautiful women starting at their feet working your way up an amazing body then seeing her face ....blah. Everything was incredible but her face.
mystic 2016
an interesting layout; lots of forced carries...some ridiculous, some challenging. Numbers 9 & 10 especially need some rethinking; Take the fairway bunker out of 9; turn #10 into a par 6 for most golfers....
no club house to speak of, just a trailer with a small bar and no food to speak of (muffins; hot dogs, pre-made sandwiches only) nice driving range and practice green area
Nice course with the best layout in the area
The layout can compare to PGA courses, challenge all your skills, both short and long games.
What were they thinking
I have played over 60 rounds this year at various courses in Canada and the US. I have never seen a course laid out like this. They should call it "the Ravines" The course should be in excellent condition due to the fact that they have almost no fairways to maintain. Several of the holes have no obvious landing areas that you can see. Sand traps should be called gravel traps. There were more rocks than sand in most of the fairway bunkers. I was afraid to damage my clubs. I rarely lose a ball and usually retire them to the shag bag after a few rounds. I lost 5 this day. I had no idea on the 17th hole where to land my drive and found the water. On the 8th hole I hit a great second shot to the left side of the Green only to arrive and not find my ball. The green slopes off drastically 4 feet off the edge of the green. Holes number 9, 18 and 10 are a circus. The staff even told us to play the 10th as a par 6. What? Not to mention the 13th hole. 9 traps with 7 in the "landing" area that is about 35 yards wide.
I didn't touch my driver until the 4 the hole.
The practice tee looked like a bomb site. It was hard to find a patch of grass to hit from.
I have never experienced a course like this and will never come back. I left scratching my head, and all I could think of was "what were they thinking" !
There are actually 28 acres of fairways at Mystic golf club. There are also overhead views on the scorecard and tee signs showing where all the trouble of the course lay. I guess you found out first hand why Mystic is considered one of the toughest layouts in golf, but hardly unfair. Next time you should look at the hole diagrams before hitting your shots and you may find your experience much more rewarding :)
mystic golf
nice course , greens were aerated , but fast.
Sandy greens
A very fun and challenging course. Fantastic value if you can book for $50 or less. Conditions were decent. Greens very sandy and very tough to putt on.
great design but pathetic in all other respects
rude pro shop-all of them could definitely improve on human relations and customer service ; horrendous fairways; worse than horrendous bunkers; useless marshalls that could not get players ahead of us to speed up. Large patches of dead brown areas on some greens. The layout is so good that if GolfNorth spent some money on maintenance and conditioning, this could be a $150 course.
the only reason I come back again and again is because of the course layout. everything else needs a 100% turnaround.
Dear mysticgolfclub,
You focussed on this past Saturday and my comments were not reserved for this particular day. I understood the situation and left without causing a fuss. You might have noticed a greater percentage of the other public comments prior to mine were negative, so I am not in the minority.
I repeat: great course but staff need public relations training and not to be spoken to in a condescending tone.
thank you
Mr. GregKarfor,
In response to your comments about how you were treated on Saturday I think it would be proper to offer some perspective on what actually happened.
You arrived on Saturday morning without a tee time and assumed you would just be able to walk on the golf course. After being told that the first tee was occupied with our Men’s League closing you were upset and then commented that "no golf course has their league closing on a weekend" which is not true. Many golf courses including those in the GolfNorth family host their league closing on a weekend so that all players can attend and enjoy their day knowing in advance which day their closing is. We also posted this on our course calendar in April. Here is a link to that calendar for future reference…. http://www.golfmystic.ca/event-calendar/ . We then offered to accommodate you by offering to allow you to tee off the back nine as the course was not busy in the morning due to the rain that had passed through. You then continued to comment on how could we host our closing on the weekend after we offered to allow you to tee off the back nine to start your round as a walk on single on a Saturday morning. For future please check our online calendar which is updated on a regular basis so that these types of events do not surprise you in the future.
Mystic GC
