Mystic Golf Club

First time this year playing mystic,and was dissiponted int the green speed and the bunkers were very poor expect more from this course!

I really enjoy this course everytime I play it. GREAT TRACK and visually stunning. However, it helps to have some knowledge of what to expect going in as there are a number of blind shots and intimidating carries. Although its a beautiful hole on paper, #10 should be a par 6 with a forced lay-up to the end on the first fairway. Push the Tees up a little so that mortals like me can still enjoy the Gold Tees with a 250yd drive! Even with the course as dry as it was, couldnt get enough roll on that hole. i will be back for sure. played for $42 with cart so TOTALLY worth the money.

Course management is the key to Mystic. Bring a lot of balls. Hot day.

Most notable things about the experience at Mystic: pace of play and lack of on course facilities. No reason for that golf course to play 5 hours, but only sign of a marshall was on the 3rd hole. Also, provide water stations or don't charge for water. If there is no potable water, what choice do we have. Lastly, throw a port-a-potty out there or something. It's not that tough. This course could be a gem but is far from it

This course has so many blind shots you'd think it was designed by Ray Charles. I honestly stopped counting the number of holes you couldn't see the landing area from the tee. Starting with #1 ... a par 5 that runs out of fairway RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE! And to balance out the nines, #10 is also a par 5 and from the 100 yard marker you can see exactly 0% of the putting surface. It felt like all that was missing at times was the swinging log.

Anyways, enough of that. The greens were actually pretty good especially compared to many others in the area which are crusty and burned out because of the hot dry conditions. Other than the greens "unkempt" and "worn out" would be good descriptions. This course has been around for years and is still operating out of a trailer. Food service is non existent and there was no cart service to be found. Many bunkers had not been maintained for days with footprints that were obviously starting to fill in because of wind or rain.

This place should only be played if you get a fabulous deal (think $40 or less with a cart) - there are just too many good places to play nearby.

Very challenging long drives. Will definitely come back for more of the same ! Very well maintained course. Thumbs Up !

Before I played the course I read the reviews and was prepared for a bad experience. Most reviews talked about forced carries and blind shots and it being an odd layout. My response to that would be you played the wrong tees or you must be a very short hitter. I'm a long hitter and I played the gold tees. I didn't find any part of the course that odd or silly and there were no more forced carries than any decent course should have. My only complaint was the guy in the proshop grinding my gears because I bought a hot deal and he gets none of the money. My response to that take yourself off of golfnow and offer some more competitive prices. Course is worth $65 max but with all of the competition out there for golf I'd be trying to play a lot cheaper than that.

The course is still challenging, the layout has not changed. But the quality of the course has diminished form the last time I played there a few years back, some of the bunkers were no longer bunkers just long grass, it was not what I was expecting. That being said I paid 30% more last time I played.

This course is very challenging; especially from the two back tees. Most of the holes are designed well, but there are a few tricked up ones (9 & 10 especially). Overall very good value !

Very challenging course. If ownership really committed to injecting some time and money into this course it would be a real gem. Still a nice layout but bring your A game

First time playing this course but won't be the last time, had a very good time and enjoyed the layout, only issue I had is a few blind shots, just my preference of not liking blind shots otherwise excellent facility.

Love playing here as its a very challenging course course!

we played from silver tee box should have played golds....tough course for a beginner ...you better know your distance of each club....play the yardages ..."DON,T"" be a hero it will eat you up ....i personally liked the layout ...1 in the group found it goofy too many blind shots....greens i thought should have been quicker ,, because they look quick ...."WRONG" lots of putts left short , bunkers needed to be raked .......overall a great challenge for your iron game ...will play again

Challenging course. Play your proper tees or it will be a frustrating day. Well laid out. Somewhat target golf. Your longest club may not be your best choice but it’s golf. Have fun!

I'm a 12hdcp, played the gold/silver hybrid which was still a challenge. Lots of forced carries and some blind shots so you've got to play smart. Course was in pretty good shape for spring.

Honestly wasn't a big fan of the course design as some of the layups are just strange, but everything was fairly well kept.

Not sure how long they've been open but they've only got a trailer for a clubhouse which is strange.. after a long winding drive in.

Played this course Saturday for the first time after being recommended by a friend

The course was in great condition and not even wet (especially after the rain the previous day)

Greens were really consistent and fairways great too

A couple of the bunkers were under repair but were signed posted GUR

I will be back to this course in a heart beat

More than not the bunkers were hard and in poor condition and some of the fairway's the grass was not cut properly, no cart service on the course. Lucky I booked a hot deal or I would have been very disappointed as it is not worth the $$ they would normally charge.

Interesting layout but very difficult for the average golfer. Too many forced carries to narrow fairways.
