Gleneagle Golf Course
About
Gleneagle Golf Course in Arlington is just an hour north of Seattle. The 5,949-yard, par-70 layout may seem relatively short, but it's a course that will test your shot making skills and accuracy with strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens. The layout makes up for any lack of length in many other ways, including the treacherous rough that lines the rolling fairways. Water hazards come into play as well, but there are more on the front nine than the back. There are some challenging holes but overall, players of all skill levels will enjoy the golf course, especially with its backdrop of cedar and fir trees spread across rolling hills. With a driving range also available, Gleneagle offers one of the area's best values for the money.

Great Time
Great course, even though it's in a subdivision it's very quiet, with many secluded holes with lots of water, trees and beautiful scenery.
Great value
Although the forecast was for showers, the weather was sunny and cool for all but 15 minutes of light hail.
As far as I could see, only myself and one foursome were on the course, making for an awesome pace of play,
The front nine was very wet, but the back nine much drier. Sand traps were in bad condition, with many weeds growing inside. Overall, the greens rolled well although there appeared to be some organic damage near the fringes of many.
This was an excellent value for 18 holes.
Maintenance has gone down
Was disappointed that the maintenance of the course seems to have been neglected. There was grass growing in the sand traps and the fairways felt like they had not been mowed in a few weeks. The greens used to be some of the best in the area but look like they have been neglected also.
Course is much improved
I play there last month and found the course in terrible condition but gave it another try yesterday and found conditions to be much improved. The tees are getting better but still have a ways to go but the greens and fairways are much improved.
Friendliness
Great staff very friendly. The layout of the golf course is challenging.
Nearly made me cry
The condition of the course was so bad it nearly made me cry. I am sure at some point in the past this course was a very nice course but It felt like the course was on it's last leg of a slow death. The fairways had so many types of grass in them and they were so uneven that it was had to find your ball. The tee's were burnt up from the hot summer. The cart paths were so bumpy you needed a back brace while driving on them. Their are nice homes all along the fairways and some are to close. They are a strange contrast to the golf course. I hope the they see fit to fix it up as it could be a very nice golf course.
Fun little track
Course conditions were as bad as I've ever seen. I've golf this location numerous times. Not sure why they weren't in better shape. Inconsistent grooming from hole to hole. The greens were OK but the rough was extra punishing in some areas and not in others. Maybe a little OT for the greens crew to get everything back in shape. I have enjoyed playing here in the past and had fun but would like to see it improve
Poorly maintained, easy short course
The conditions of this course was the worst I've ever played. The drought had the Seattle area courses stressed, but there appeared to be no attempt to keep it healthy. Many Tee boxes were without any grass anywhere. Undergrowth outside fairways was solid blackberry bushes and such. Fairways were in bad shape but that is normal here this year. Course is short and mimics more pricey courses that are built in and around homes. Many are too close for beginners. Nothing notably positive unless you are a senior just wanting a short local course to play with a nice clubhouse.
Don't Believe the Pictures
I was very disappointed in this course. I got a great deal, read good reviews and it looked beautiful online. When I got there I found 4 inch fairway grass and burnt, cracking greens. The fairways looked more like a field than a golf course. I don't think I'll play here again.
Good course well worth the price of admission
A hidden (semi-precious) gem north of Seattle in Arlington well worth the drive & price. A couple of bad holes but I would play this course every day if I lived here 'cause I've played courses that were more than twice as much & not half as good.
Course Conditions
I have played this course multiple times in the past and was very surprised and disappointed of the conditions.
The fairways were dry, the Tee boxes were terrible, bunkers had weeds and rocks in them, it just made me feel like I was playing a course somebody had built out on their farm.
Summer play
Course was very dry. Sand traps were full of weeds and grass. Greens for the most part were being watered but several had severe dead brown dry grass areas. Weather has been very dry and hot this season. Course would really fun if it was better maintained. A shame.
DRY...
There has been a sprinkler issue and it took 8 weeks to fix so don't expect much green on the course. With how hard the fairways were there should be some kind of discount similar to when you punch the greens... Until it isn't cement fairways I won't play the course this year.
Never Again!
Ok, we've had a very dry summer, but c'mon...this course was joke. Every fairway, many greens and even many of the tee boxes were BONE DRY DEAD. Even if you hit a great drive the ground was like cement and would take crazy bounces making finding your ball almost impossible. From the first hole we were shocked and truly disappointed. We have golfed here in the past and thought it was an okay course...never again. I can't believe we paid money for this crummy experience. Water your course...at least a little.
Course is BAKED
Course is not long but still very challenging.
Management has opted not to water the fairways over the hot summer so everything rolled to low ground. Turning typical good fairway shots into lost balls. Which is frustrating to a high handicapper. Since the price was not to bad with an online booking our group was willing to accept the challenge. Unfortunately, while it looks like there has been an attempt to water the green complexes its seemed like the results have been uneven. Leading to wide variations in the quality of the greens during the round.
Course needs improving..
Its still one of the best layouts around, yet the maintenance has been slipping over the years. The fairways are not well maintained, tee boxes are overgrown (greens were in good shape), but most importantly, the cart paths have been horribly neglected all these years. I would rather pay a little more in my green fees if money was used to improve the cart paths. Something really needs to be done about that problem as its getting worse with each passing year.
Burnt out!!
Fun layout but course was just compleatly burnt out. Even most greens were beginning to burn.
scared for my clubs
We play a lot of golf, and thinking we,were snobs... it really was not that at all.. totally scared to hit my clubs, as I feared scaring them from the rock hard ground and dirt tee boxes. Have seen the shape of the course much better in years past.
gleneagle not up to par
Course showed signs of extreme neglect. Went there for the value from tacoma area to play with my brother visiting from N.M.. wasn't worth the time as the course was in terrible shape.
