Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
About
Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is located just outside of Barrie on what was formerly an important Huron Indian settlement. The golf course is an homage to the former inhabitants of the land, including the Huron Indians and emigrants from the British Isles. The golf course was built to maintain the historical integrity and scenic features of the rustic, rolling landscape. The dramatic elevations throughout the course offer stunning panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and the Georgian Bay. Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is relatively short at 6,311 yards from the back tees, but there are still some lengthy shots that will appeal to long hitters, including the par-5 eighth, which stretches to 539 yards.

This coarse has good greens and playable sand
We played this coarse last weekend of their season so conditions were a bit rough.
Usually greens roll true with lots of tricky slopes.
Sand is usually in good condition.
Some par 4s fairways are a bit dangerous.
Tight and close to each other with blind shots.
Please yell 4 if you flare your drives.
Risk/reward favours long irons/rescue clubs off lots of tees.

Always a pleasure
Settler's is a treat, especially in the fall.
Course is in fabulous shape and the colours/vistas are eye-opening.
Some blind shots for 1st timers but that will make you come back for more and more.
Thoroughly enjoyed my day.
k
Would play again
Nice course. Not too long so I would play from the tips.
Last minute booking
Once again I had a great round at Settlers Ghost This course continues to be my favorite in the whole area. I hope as the first to tee off that day and to me that is so nice because you can pace yourself. Another awesome day Thanks
Great course
Beauty day, course was in great shape ! Staff are super friendly. Right from the starter to the cook Erin in the kitchen Would go back again and again!
Great value for your money.
It's a good course, but i hate that team you up trying to make 4somes. I had hoped to play alone and anywhere else I've played allows it but not these guys. Probably won't be back
Great Course
Nice facility with a good little restaurant. Course was lots of fun to play.
Always a fun round
The Ghost has become our weekly course of play.
Always on good shape and fun to play.
A member of our group this well used to play on so. Mini tours so we were interested in his opinion of the course.
We played the gold tees and he shot par. Even though the course was short for him he said the greens were as tough as some of the TOUR courses he had played. He also commented that the greens rolled true and were in great shape.
He agreed the the greens were tough to hold as their fast but also because you're hitting down hill to so many of them.
Will play again for sure
Always a pleasure
Course always in great shape!! The greens were a little harder than normal which made it extremely difficult to hold the greens. Always a great course to play
Course in good shape but ....
I've played this course quite a few times this season and as always the greens ate my putter up lol
If you drive the ball over 200 yards don't play the white tees. I always play golds and blues but since the two guys I got joined up with were playing whites, I decided to try the white tees. Except for the first and fifth holes, I hit a 52, 56, or 60 degree wedge to every hole (including the two par threes)
My only issue was with the starter. She hooked me up with two other golfers to play. I found out on the 7th hole that they were only playing 9 holes. When we finished the 9, I went to the starter and asked her what I should do because the back was filled with foursomes. She told me I could play the front nine again. I chose to go home instead lol
Great day
Course it self was great pace of play was bad sometimes 2 groups on tee blocks.
Third day in a row
Third day in a row playing the Ghost.
Always a challenge and course conditions were great as always.
Will play it again for sure
