Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
About
Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is located just outside of Barrie on what was formerly an important Huron Indian settlement. The golf course is an homage to the former inhabitants of the land, including the Huron Indians and emigrants from the British Isles. The golf course was built to maintain the historical integrity and scenic features of the rustic, rolling landscape. The dramatic elevations throughout the course offer stunning panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and the Georgian Bay. Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is relatively short at 6,311 yards from the back tees, but there are still some lengthy shots that will appeal to long hitters, including the par-5 eighth, which stretches to 539 yards.

Excellent facility!
We thought the course was in great shape, and the greens beautiful! Would recommend to anyone..
Great day on the links....
Settlers Ghost is a very nice and very playable for all levels of players. The greens were in great shape and rolled nicely.. With several tee decks you could manage your yardage according to your ability. The driving range could use some work and definitely some new golf balls... My wife and I had dinner after the round and the food and service was excellent.. We will be back again and the fall colours should prove to be spectacular... DC.
A good test and pleasure to play
What a nice course> Every hole is interesting. Had driven by many times and always figured the holes by the road were the best and that may be all. We were surprised to find the whole course very interesting and well kept. Great Value also
Well worth the drive
Not overly long @ 6311 yards but tight enough to provide a challenge to all level of golfer. Very peaceful location with beautiful scenery and many picturesque holes. Great value!
Bad Starter!!!
The course was in good condition. The problem was the Starter, I was in a 2-some and when we arrived at the 1st hole. There was a 3-some teeing off, the Starter tells us we can tee off if the other 2 4-somes aren't here. He goes out of his way to flag down both 4-somes from the practice green and make them tee off before our 2-some? He shouldn't be working as a Starter anymore. The pace of play was Brutal, it felt like we were playing our 2nd round of golf that day. I'm not impressed with the course or the Starter. I won't be playing there anymore. It appears that Horse Shoe was empty that day also. I will spend my money on a course that I can finish in 4 hours, not 5 hours!
Great day of golf.
Played on July 10/14 just b4 9am. Finished in 3 hours as a twosome. Great pace of play on this day and the people in the proshop were friendly and curtious. The greens and fairways were in great shape. Note to other golfers though.. Fix your ball marks!!
A few holes on the front 9 are blind and sometimes balls are flying at you from out of nowhere so be on the lookout.
Use the GPS feature on your iphone for the course. It helped immensely.
Very Picturesque
Every hole is unique and beautiful. Well designed with good variety and challenges that anyone can handle.
sand traps
The sand traps were amazing and good sand and kept well. The elevation changes are amazing and good scenery. Thanks lee
The course has very nice features
I played this course with my friends and we all loved it. The price was very good even if we traveled for an hour. The course was well keep it, and challengeing with all the changes in elevation, blind shouts, and toff greens.
Course and scenery are great
A challenging course with great views, that plays longer than the yardage shows. Lots of up and down fairways. Course in great condition.
Great course , slow play
The Marshall was no help in moving people along so our day turned into a marathon.
Great golf course and we'll be back
Great Course
We enjoyed this course. It is not the first time we have played it, so that should tell you that we like it.
We certainly try and play it it whenever it is possible to get up that way.
terrible customer service
I won't pay to play here again. First they argue with older couples about booking mistakes and blame the customer to their face. Then they pair your group up with other players without asking. They say it's course policy and put up a fight.
After a long argument and the staff member at the tee off throwing their clipboard into the shack and talking bad about my group loud enough to hear and making negative remarks on our shots. We got to play. Also we were occasionally visited by this person during play who would give us bad looks and shake their head at us.. so if this sounds like it's up your alley then go to settlers ghost where I wanted my money back before I tee'd off!!!
Beautiful Course
Course was in great shape, although greens were quite thin. Wonderful views. not enough variety in the par 3's, they were all same length. The number of blind shots was a bit much. Overall a very nice course, looking forward to playing it again.
Great Course Condtions
Unfortunately we were pulled off the course by siren on the 14 hole, day of the Angus tornado.
Up to that point, we found the course conditions to be excellent. Very hilly course. We played as a twosome and had played 13 holes in 2+ hours when the siren was blown. We were given a 9 hole pass to come back. Very friendly staff who were happy to accommodate.
Great day!
After all the rain, the ground was well drained and the course was beautiful.
Bit crowded and had to wait at each hole which did not help our score.
Beautiful scenery
Great price thru Golf Now, a little clogged at back nine.
Enjoy the course, well groomed fairways.
Had a great day. Staff was very pleasant. Weather wasn't the best but it was great to be on the course. I'll be back. Good job Settlers. See you soon.
Xxx
Great course to play. Narrow fairways, well maintained greens and tee blocks.
