About
Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is located just outside of Barrie on what was formerly an important Huron Indian settlement. The golf course is an homage to the former inhabitants of the land, including the Huron Indians and emigrants from the British Isles. The golf course was built to maintain the historical integrity and scenic features of the rustic, rolling landscape. The dramatic elevations throughout the course offer stunning panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and the Georgian Bay. Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is relatively short at 6,311 yards from the back tees, but there are still some lengthy shots that will appeal to long hitters, including the par-5 eighth, which stretches to 539 yards.

The course was in great shape. The fairways were great like playing on a carpet couldn't even see a weed. Greens were fast just the way they should be. Pin placements were challenging. Tee blocks were in good shape. The people that worked there however didn't seem to be to happy or friendly but I really didn't care as I was there to golf not socialize. The wait staff and the starter were however very pleasant. Great value for the money I would definitely recommend.

Mean greens
Played this course for years. Always a nice time because it didn’t beat you up, But these last two months the greens have been so fast and several difficult pin locations. Took the enjoyment out of it!
Great all round experience
Staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Had a great experience on the course, and after the round on the patio. Will definitely be back.
Rained out.
Excellent condition. Just too bad we got rained out on hole 11 but we got a rain check for the next day to play the back nine again, very friendly staff Who checked us in at 9:30, not sure of his name but he was bald and glasses tall guy very nice. Friendly starter as well.. he was around on the front nine on the eighth hole we were under sine trees waiting out the downpour of rain and he asked us if there everything was OK and if you could do anything for us. That was great!
I’ll be back before the season end. One of my favourite courses.
A treat from start to finish
Had never played this course and was told to give it a try. The course conditions were great. The layout was challenging and fair. More blind tee shots (can’t see people ahead) that I would have liked but the starter said “they are blind but straight” he was right. Staff was very friendly and the Value.......awesome. $55 including cart and worth much more. (Don’t change your prices)
Settlers is a must.

Hot and sticky
It was a hot day with no breeze! Course itself was in fantastic shape with the greens rolling fast and true. Would have been nice to see a beverage cart or even water to drink on course.
