About
Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is located just outside of Barrie on what was formerly an important Huron Indian settlement. The golf course is an homage to the former inhabitants of the land, including the Huron Indians and emigrants from the British Isles. The golf course was built to maintain the historical integrity and scenic features of the rustic, rolling landscape. The dramatic elevations throughout the course offer stunning panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and the Georgian Bay. Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is relatively short at 6,311 yards from the back tees, but there are still some lengthy shots that will appeal to long hitters, including the par-5 eighth, which stretches to 539 yards.

Early season round
Course in reasonable shape, greens are in good shape
A Good Challenge
Played this on a relatively dry day (we dodged one rain storm briefly). Course was in pretty good shape early season. Greens were quite slow and sandy would be my main critique, but this could be due to it being early season. Holes had good variety. Hills made for a nice challenge at times. You can walk it but would be tiring. The ladies in our group commented that all the par 3s were quite similar, and short, from their tee boxes so some variety there could help. Would certainly play again.
our tee was at 8.15 am after raining all day Monday course was wet so car path only, we like playing this course whenever we visit this area, fairways and greens in good condition, elevations makes more interesting!

Nice course.
Course in great condition for this early season. Paid great price to walk the course but that was the mistake. This course needs a cart at it is very hilling. Lots of blind shots so beware. Will play again.

Amazing place to play
This is my first year golfing andI have picked the sport up quick. I would have to say Hawk Ridge is my home course. Friendly staff, asweome course layout, amazing conditions all summer long! Amazing place to play all around

Nice Course
Very nice course. The natural features of the course add some interesting challenges. Was in great condition.
Wear a hardhat!
Course had many back and forth holes and was very narrow resulting in many times balls from other fairways coming onto your fairway.
Challenging and must be played.
Rolling fairways, blind tee shots, changes in elevation and undulating greens make this a fair but challenging course. The course may not be long but the layout will make you think from the to green. Once on the green, speed control and reading the lines will be important. A must play if you are in the Barrie region
