Southbrook Golf and Country Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf & Country Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf & Country Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

poor condition
tboxes with little grass, potholes like caverns and full garbage containers from day before. paid $71 for this!
Nice course and staff. Poor 4 some in front of us
Had a nice round scored well and enjoyed most.of the day. Only trouble was there was a foursome I front of us that were brutal. No adherence to dress code or any golf etiquette. They only had 2 sets of clubs took at least 10 to 15 shots per fairway, played loud rap music picked up my ball and were going to hit it..It took about 1.5hrs to play the first three holes. We ended up skipping hole 4 and passing them they were just awful. Worst play I have seen in my 40 plus years of golf. My biggest complaint would be they never should have been allowed on the course, sharing clubs and blaring music and the dress code violations. Southbrook you messed up a lot of people's Sunday afternoon.
A haunted charm
Definitely a unique experience at Southbrook!
A pretty straightforward course with a few elevation changes and some blind shots. Suits a lefty like me just fine.
A rickety abandoned home up the front nine seems oddly left as a reminder of a different time and a hole with some bridge to nowhere shows that there was once some long forgotten charm to this course.
I do enjoy this course probably more than most other accessible courses in the area and it's a great deal on GolfNow or in twilight.
Pace of play is fine just make sure to call ahead in case there is a tournament going on!
Staff have been pleasant and courteous and always thank me at the end of the round.
Only downside I will mention is that some of the fairways are a bit chewed up with some unintended unplayable lies. Most likely a result of the wet weather this year. Cart paths are a bit choppy as well.
Overall a great day out. Thanks!
Fairways were good, greens were all sand
Fairways are in good condition, but all the greens are covered in sand, a couple holes you couldnt even see any green it was almost like putting in a sand trap.
Sandtraps were solid sand, and rough wasnt well maintained.
Ok course to play if you get a good deal, not worth the full cost that they charge.
The course offered tee times in the middle of a tournament. Had to wait 10 minutes minimum at each hole. After that, not going back. Took 6 hours for 18 hole all because of waiting.
Impressed with conditions and recent changes.Great bang for the buck!
One of our favourites...
Southbrook is one of our favourite local courses. The staff are fabulous, very friendly and inviting. The food in the clubhouse is excellent and the pro shop has everything you would need.
If I have one complaint, it’s the pace of play. Quite often there are lengthy waits at each hole. For us, that’s not a problem because we’re never in a hurry, but that seems to be the one thing that fellow golfers we speak to complain about.
Great value at a great course.
Afternoon round
The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was great! New carts were excellent too.
Great Staff
Course is dry and plays long. The staff was dynamite. They went out of their way to get us out early to avoid a large group that they felt would have slowed down our round I look forward to our next round at this local gem.
Southbrook G.C.
An exceptional and challenging course. Sprawling wide open fairways as well as narrower and finesse requiring holes. Greens are in excellent shape. Plus an on site driving range. My best experience of the season.
Southbrook
Course is dry after a wet spring. In decent shape now much better then earlier in the season. Greens are slow.
Disappointing
Most Tee Boxes were rock hard, same with the fairways which had a lot of crab grass. Maintenance interfered with play several times. Disappointing. Staff seemed indifferent.
