Glen Eagle Golf Club - Yellow/Red
About
Located just northwest of Toronto, Glen Eagle Golf Club offers three unique nines that provide three different 18-hole, championship courses. Spread across a scenic terrain of rolling hills and valleys, each course has unique vistas. The Yellow/Red golf course combines the most difficult nine with another that is considerably shorter with many opportunities for birdies. The 3,227-yard Yellow nine provides a gentle start with several short par 4s but prepare yourself for the Red, which stretches to 3,521 yards from the tips. This nine is the most difficult, demanding long drives as well as accurate tee shots. There are also large, elevated greens that are heavily contoured and surrounded by bunkers.

Blue/Yellow courses in perfect shape
Great afternoon playing with customers. Course was in fantastic shape and the pace of play was great especially for a Friday.
Muddy
Difficult to play in the rain. Muddy aerated fairways. Greens in good shape but a tad slower than primetime.
Golf carts are getting pretty beat up and noisy.
Glen Eagle golf autumn Friday !
The weather couldn’t of been better. Staff are friendly and the check in process was smooth.
We played the “old course”. On a phone or golf watch that means blue course for 3 holes, yellow course for 6 holes, then red course for 9 holes. A bit confusing and forget coordinating this on a golf app. A beautiful property with lots of room for the holes. The overall score would be higher with some better course maintenance. We had a blast regardless. Ended the round looking forward to a beer and some food. No food options. No servers. We bought 4 cans of beer in the pro-shop and 4 bags of chips. They have a beautiful outdoor patio and missed the boat on this one. Sunny fall day and the patio would have been full with some service. Good value for the money but it could be so much more !!
Well maintained course
Great course in great condition, greens and fairways were well kept and maintained. layout was good, not too constricted for the novice player, yet allowing experienced players a bit of a challenge
Maintenance was low
Greens had beaver pelts of grass on them, bunker bikes left sand everywhere outside the bunkers, fairways were as long as some places roughs.
GG
The hospitality cart had no cream or sugar for coffee but pushed the alcohol very hard.
Don't understand (some of) the reviews
I have played Glen Eagle once a year for some years as part of the rotation with my regular foursome. We missed last year (thank you, COVID), so I checked the recent reviews to see what might have changed. I was very much struck, and not pleasantly, by accounts of the course's decline, the dreadful condition of tee-boxes, greens, and fairways, the salt-pan state of the sand traps, and the general lack of care and keeping.
We played yesterday and found none of these to be the case, except the traps (and for the tee-box on Blue 6 [or maybe 7] that does seem to have been mounted on concrete). The traps were/are rock hard and almost impossible to play from. This condition is nothing like unique at GTA courses in the post-rake era, but I do like the suggestion in some other comment here that, until conditions and maintenance change, untended sand traps be treated as unplayable lies with a free drop.
Otherwise, though, the course was in fine shape and is challenge enough for golfers like me whose great ambition is to break 100.
Excellent course
I’ve been here numerous times and it’s the overall quality of the course and friendliness of the staff that keep me coming back. This particular time the course was in excellent condition and the staff as friendly and welcoming as ever! Will definitely be back!
Mediocre
Had 4 groups tee off at the same time which created a bottle neck, course wasn't well maintained but staff was friendly and course was still pretty good
