Glen Eagle Golf Club - Yellow/Red
About
Located just northwest of Toronto, Glen Eagle Golf Club offers three unique nines that provide three different 18-hole, championship courses. Spread across a scenic terrain of rolling hills and valleys, each course has unique vistas. The Yellow/Red golf course combines the most difficult nine with another that is considerably shorter with many opportunities for birdies. The 3,227-yard Yellow nine provides a gentle start with several short par 4s but prepare yourself for the Red, which stretches to 3,521 yards from the tips. This nine is the most difficult, demanding long drives as well as accurate tee shots. There are also large, elevated greens that are heavily contoured and surrounded by bunkers.

Maintenance was low
Greens had beaver pelts of grass on them, bunker bikes left sand everywhere outside the bunkers, fairways were as long as some places roughs.
GG
The hospitality cart had no cream or sugar for coffee but pushed the alcohol very hard.
Don't understand (some of) the reviews
I have played Glen Eagle once a year for some years as part of the rotation with my regular foursome. We missed last year (thank you, COVID), so I checked the recent reviews to see what might have changed. I was very much struck, and not pleasantly, by accounts of the course's decline, the dreadful condition of tee-boxes, greens, and fairways, the salt-pan state of the sand traps, and the general lack of care and keeping.
We played yesterday and found none of these to be the case, except the traps (and for the tee-box on Blue 6 [or maybe 7] that does seem to have been mounted on concrete). The traps were/are rock hard and almost impossible to play from. This condition is nothing like unique at GTA courses in the post-rake era, but I do like the suggestion in some other comment here that, until conditions and maintenance change, untended sand traps be treated as unplayable lies with a free drop.
Otherwise, though, the course was in fine shape and is challenge enough for golfers like me whose great ambition is to break 100.
Excellent course
I’ve been here numerous times and it’s the overall quality of the course and friendliness of the staff that keep me coming back. This particular time the course was in excellent condition and the staff as friendly and welcoming as ever! Will definitely be back!
Mediocre
Had 4 groups tee off at the same time which created a bottle neck, course wasn't well maintained but staff was friendly and course was still pretty good
Never again
We played 9 holes in 3 hours and 10 minutes. Painfully slow. The cart quit on me on the 4th hole. Other carts are in poor conditions too. Beware if you book on Golfnow, you won't be get a raincheck. You get a raincheck Only if you book directly with the proshop.
Never again
Was my home coarse then Covid happened.
Been playing here for 30 years but as a blue collar worker and green fees going up faster than my wages , I can't afford to play here anymore . Wish there was affordable twilight like there use to be . During my round we had a road block of 3 foresomes at the 12th . Gave up and went home . Didn't think closing off some of the holes was a good idea and staff didn't seem concerned .
Don’t get the value the put on this course
Must be because it is within Toronto but at $110 with a cart, course like Royal Stouffville much better condition and less money. Westview another course which is in better condition. Starters are good guys , very pleasant and welcoming. Much better than pro shop. Don’t get me wrong, layout can be fun but fnot fee of $110 course. Only good thing is the layout. Carts are awful. Feel like they are going to die. Greens on some holes are burnt.
Drought
Beautiful layout but fairways and greens were extremely dry and hard.
Glen eagle
Just the right difficulty level for a 110-120 golfer. Rough is forgiving and not too many obstacles or uphills.
Other courses too difficult (eg copper creek or bondhead north)
Enjoyable round
