Glen Eagle Golf Club - Yellow/Red
About
Located just northwest of Toronto, Glen Eagle Golf Club offers three unique nines that provide three different 18-hole, championship courses. Spread across a scenic terrain of rolling hills and valleys, each course has unique vistas. The Yellow/Red golf course combines the most difficult nine with another that is considerably shorter with many opportunities for birdies. The 3,227-yard Yellow nine provides a gentle start with several short par 4s but prepare yourself for the Red, which stretches to 3,521 yards from the tips. This nine is the most difficult, demanding long drives as well as accurate tee shots. There are also large, elevated greens that are heavily contoured and surrounded by bunkers.

Going in the wrong direction
Played this course 8 years ago and it was a decent track, now it is just poor conditions maybe it is the drought. The greens where good anyway.
Monday afternoon round
Greens in good shape but fairways hard and dry and a lot of dead grass
Bolton's Signature Golf Course
Nice course, reasonably tough design, however due to lack of rain this year (drought conditions) some fairways and most rough were not in great shape. Greens were good and challenging, and most bunkers were playable. Definitely need to hit straight otherwise you'll find yourself nestled amongst the tall timbers with an almost impossible approach shot. A couple of signature holes give the feel of a very upscale course along with a very aesthetically pleasing backdrop. Pace of play was wonderful as we golfed on a Monday morning, but can see it being slower on a weekend due to volume. Some amenities are a little dated but understandable as the course has some history behind it, which gives the feel of "old time" golf. Green fees are fair and if using a golfnow.com tee time will increase the value for dollar tremendously. In closing, I would certainly recommend the course, and will play again at the end of summer or early fall to truly enjoy a beautiful round.
Course is in a very dry condition
The entire area has been dry but this course really shows. The greens are in great shape for a dry summer but the fairways are very hard and dry making it almost dangerous to hit sometimes, its like hitting off concrete. The sand bunkers are also in poor condition.
Great Course, Great value from Golfnow
A great course, great value from Golfnow and staff were very efficient.
Features of the Club
The Course is a good test for the average golfer. The only issue I would say was that the rough was pretty dead due to the heat. In saying that I wasn't overly upset about that for the odd occasion I was in there.
Challenging but fun
Course was very dry ( middle of a hot summer), and was playing very fast. Was still a lot of fun!
Gotta play this course
Beautiful course with more than a few picturesque holes. When we got there it was fairly busy but the pace of play was great. Too early for beers but cart girl came around with coffee and sandwhiches. I am an intermediate golfers and found there are some challenging holes and some that are forgiving. Will definitely be coming back here.
Long and straight!!!!
A nice layout, if you can keep the ball straight!! We played GOLD and it played a very uncomfortable long with some holes with tough landing areas. Worth the price and pace was very good.
Glen Eagle not an Eagle anymore
Played this course last about 10 years ago and it was kept much better. Sat down to eat and was not served. When I asked if I could have a menu I was told I had to go to the bar to order lunch. The fairways were very dry and the bunkers were are hard as rock. No Marshals on the course. The Galway house had no one to serve you. It was closed and the paper towel dispenser was ripped off the wall. I would not play this course again.
Always good
Haven't played here in a while but the course was as good as I can remember in terms of conditions and pace. It was a weekday morning so pace was very good. This course has always been in good condition from what I can remember and this time was no different.
Great fun
Really enjoyed playing this course. Great condition. Great staff. The 18th is a massive 601 yards off the white tee! Into the wind made it even longer!
A great day out.
First time playing at Glen Eagle. Easy to get to location. Course was fun to play and in great shape. Layout provides every kind of shot off the tee and after. Pin placements were tough.
Great value for the course condition. Would definitely play again. Thanks for a fun day not in the office.
Excellent course, but had to pay an extra $20 for a cart to start early.
Excellent course to play, however I had to pay an extra $20 for a cart to start early.
I booked to play on Golf Now for 1 player with a cart at 12:00. I arrived at 11:25 to check in. The customer representative informed me that I have to wait for a threesome or I can pay an extra $20 for a cart - which I thought was included in the price I already paid.
The customer representative said that I should not have received that low of an offer to play, and that is the reasoning behind the extra charge.
Would have given the course a much higher rating if it was not for this issue.
Glen Eagle
The course was in very good shape. No one on the course, forecast was for rain but it held off. The greens were impeccable. Not too fat, but ran very true and smooth, and receptive. No putts taking large hops all over the green.
Some of the fairway bunkers were not kept well at all.
Great staff upgrades this rating
A moderate playing course that is a bit of a hike to get to makes itself a "go to" for me due to the great service from the staff, starting with the shuttle service to the pro shop to the clubhouse to the refreshment carts. Top notch job!
Great course...
Played there Tuesday and took us 3 hrs and 15mins to finish. Course in good condition and greens were fast.
Poor fairways and greens
Fairways had rough patches and greens were not rolled. Most putts took big bounces on the way to the hole.
great course and worth the drive
Always a decent deal going on for this course since it's quite a ways north of the city. I love this course overtime i make the hike up though. Greens are always in superb condition and pace of play is always good.
He is wrong.
