not bad
course in good condition, only issue was kids camp was ahead of us 2:45 front 9 after that it was fine. It would have been nice to know they were out ahead of us.
A great little track!
Having grown up in Aurora and cottaged on the South West side of Lake Simcoe, I've been playing the Highlands for quite some time now. A great little track that my brother and I frequent at least a handful of times a season.
Pretty good course
The course was in good condtion, fairways and rough were recently cut, greens were good but too many balls marks unrepaired by thoughtless golfers. The putting green was quicker than those on the course. Bunkers were ok, the "sand" is not great, could be improved. Pace of play was probably normal for a weekend round, waited on every tee for a couple of minutes all day long.
Expected more
I expected more from the course after reading the reviews.
I couldn't pick any hole as a signature hole.
The tee blocks we're beat up and uneven.
If you can get at a cheap price then try the course, but not worth the drive.
Fair value, but exceptionally slow round
Played a round on Sunday afternoon. It was a fairly quiet afternoon due to risk of thunderstorm, and perhaps scared a bunch of golfers off from heading north.
The course was in generally good condition, besides the fact that we had a group of foursome playing extremely slow. The group in front of us was behind by at least 3 holes after 7th or 8th. We decided to skip ahead after the front 9, and hadn't seen a single group in front since then.
It may have been an isolated incident, but nonetheless I believe the marshal should have done his job of patrolling and maintaining the pace of play.
Reasonable!!
This course is really recomended to all beginers. But the course has adequate number of Pars.
Greens are so-so condition.
Power carts are too old.. Needed to be replaced with all new!
Overall, we had fun and really enjoyed the "rolling the balls!!"
Always good value for your money
The booking was easy and the price for the day was excellent. Course was in good shape, tee times right on time and pace of play for a long weekend very good.will go this route again
a really good day
WE played the back nine to start and that was a good thing because when we turned the corner and played the 1st you were well warmed up. The most difficult hole on the course in my opinion. You have to hit a long drive down the center fairway in order to carry the pond to the green or it's a lay up. Over all a very nice recreational golf course.
Surprisingly tricky
Lot of creeks mid fairway. Some unique usage of traps and whatnot. Challenging for an intermediate golfer. Not terribly long, but a reasonable distance. Well manicured and most definitely worth the $30 for 18 with cart.
Windy Day on a Nice Course
Continuous wind made for some interesting shots! Overall this is a great course for the money ! The Blue or Gold tees will add to the challenge of some tight fairways. Greens were very good, thick with medium speed. No trouble spots observed on any of the greens. Bunkers were firmer than I would prefer making soft landings difficult. #9 Par 5 is a good risk reward hole enabling you to reach the green in two with a solid drive. Worth the drive North from down town Toronto!
Nice course in a peaceful setting.
Have played here a few times. Pace can be a bit slow and the last time we played there was no starter so a bit of KAOS on the 1st hole.
Solid Course - Expect a LONG round
Overall the course is in good shape and the staff is top notch. You get some challenging holes sprinkled in with some great birdie opportunities.
Biggest issue/concern is the pace of play. I'm not one to expect a 3.5 hour round on a Saturday, however when you exceed 5 hours for a round something is wrong.
I would certainly recommend others play there, just try to get out early before the crowds.
good afternoon
Had a great afternoon, course was challenging but fair. Greens are in great shape with alot of break. Course could use more distance from pin info, as sometimes we had no idea where we were. Some info on distance to the creek from the tee box would be helpful. Will play again for sure!
Staff
Some of the best staff you will find at any course.
Showdown at the Highlands
Went golfing with my closest golfing buddy, my best friend and his brother. We split the brothers up and had a sweet combined score match play game. Game ended tied without a SINGLE hole being pushed. What made it really fun was that 17 and 18 are arguably the 2 hardest holes at Bradford, it Made for a sweet finish with me draining a 4fter with 6in of break to tie.
The Gold tees really add a ton of yardage particularly on the par 5s. A few tee decks were 50 yards back one was near 80. The gold tees are actually quite a challenge for us long bombers. (I usually play 6500 but the tees fall at 6200 and 6750 so I went 6750)
Course was in great shape, greens were true...Rough was thick Fairways were fair. Staff was very friendly and there was a wicked hot girl working the turn. Lately I find Bradford Highlands is one of the best deals on golf now for under $60
H. I.O.
My wife has a H-I-O at hole #8, she is one inch close to the hole, them dramticlly kicked in by a team player. Thank you Authur.
and thanks God there is not too much ice storm damage from last brutal winter.
Not bad value
The conditions were ok.. The greens were a little bumpy. We were following a slow foursome and there was no Marshall in sight.
Good bang for buck!
Pretty good course all around. Fairways are well groomed, interesting course layout, they had friendly staff, good food, a pretty nice range, and it was a good price for a decent track. Ground was very tough around the greens, and tee boxes could be a little better maintained, but other than that, no complaints.
