Whispering Ridge Golf Course

About
Whispering Ridge Golf Course is an executive course that was designed to complement its sister course, the nearby Lakeridge Links. Although it does not have the same length the championship Lakeridge Links has, it still offers about the same level of difficulty. The layout offers a different set of challenges, providing a compelling alternative to the other course. Its design is versatile enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. A few water hazards come into play throughout as well as several deep, strategically placed bunkers. The gently rolling terrain provides some undulations in the fairways and greens. The par-3 third hole is one of the most challenging on the golf course with a gulch along the right as well as sand and rough to the left, all waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. Accuracy is a necessity on this tricky hole.

Course under repair
I golfed here years ago with my grandsons. The course was average. I last golfed here once pre covid when the housing construction had just began. Conditions were terrible. I had a round with a grandson yesterday expecting conditions to have improved but not. Fairways were ok. T boxes needed attention. Greens were very good and challenging. Bunkers were overgrown with weeds. Paths were a disaster. The only draw is the price which is very cheap.
This course is the best for our game.
I had a few good drive in the middle of the fairways but we cannot find the ball. I think cutting the grass a bit short in the fairway will be the best. All in all we had a great time thats all it counts. Thanks.
Terrible conditions
Terrible conditions. Most fairways are weedy, tee boxes are either rough or no grass at all. Real disappointment. played here for many years and loved it. Now it is a mess. No marshaling which made the round very slow. Waiting on almost every shot. Will not return.
Tee box, sand trap and renovation.
Teeboxes were no grass. Sand traps were hard, no sand and full of weeds. The course is under renovation. Come back next year.
Disappointing
Played this course for many years and was impressed with conditions and pace. Played today after a couple of years away. Course conditions terrible. Most bunkers are grown over or concrete. Tee boxes very unkept with some pure sand. Erratic fairway cutting and lots of weeks rather than grass.. No marshaling of the course. Over 4 hour round for a course that could be done in a 2 1/2 hours. Not likely to ever return.
Course for high handicappers
Great course for mid to high handicappers. Let's face it, most courses are going to be challenging for less skilled golfers. With the exception of 2 dogleg par 5's, you see all holes from the tee box. The course has 9 par 3's in total. For new golfers, par 3's and short par 4's are ideal.
Course isn't usually too busy. Team up with another group if it is. I hate playing golf alone so I'll ask the starter to team me up.
Some of the tee boxes are a joke. Needs better maintenance. I play there a lot and it's hit or miss with the cart girl. You may see her once, quite a bit or not at all. Across the parking lot, you'll find Lake Ridge golf course and I believe the cart girl spends most of her time there. Bring 2 to 3 bottles of cold water on a hot day and you'll be fine. Go to the Dollar store and buy your snacks and fluid before you play. It's a lot cheaper than what most golf courses are selling.
Staff is friendly and helpful. No issues there.
Price is very ideal. $45 with cart. That's a steal in today's golf world. It's a par 65 course with 9 par 3's. The other 9, you can definitely hit driver on most of them...depending on your skill set.
Lower handicap players will have a better time at LakeRidge. I did mention it's across the parking lot. LakeRidge is definitely the busiest of both courses. It's better maintained as well. Lots of false fronts which makes it challenging.
. Disappointing round
No marshall to keep pace of play, skipped 3 holes as golfers ahead were too busy chatting to golf. No sandtraps but there are rakes. The course is in ok shape but a lot of tee boxes were bare.
Fair and Fin
Great par 65 course. Some challenging par 4 holes Greens are decent sizes and in very good shape for a public course which are typically abused by weekend warriors.
Some tee boxes have dried out making it hard to insert the tee and ball cleaners should be topped up regularly.
beverage cart was frequent and timely.
Excellent rate and friendly front desk staff.
Nice and cozy golf course
Reasonable price, nicely maintained course. Good for beginner to intermediate players.
Great Value for your money
I was impressed with this course. Nice layout and is fairly challenging. Great value for your money.
More than just an Executive course
It is not a regulation size course but it is bigger than an executive course. The ciurse was in good shape and we will play there again.
