A traditional, tree-lined target golf course. Played early in the year and both the fairways and greens were in excellent shape.
A traditional, tree-lined target golf course. Played early in the year and both the fairways and greens were in excellent shape. One of the best value-for-money courses in the GTA.
Deserve 4 stars
I liked:
Course in very good condition even tough there is one temporary green ( all the others were fine )
Full staff; starter, marshal, cart girls
Excellent practice facilities; range, chipping and bunker area, putting green
I didn't liked:
Slow play ( almost 5 hours )
Mowers all around us for at least 3 holes on a busy Friday afternoon
Some holes very close to each other, almost dangerous on hole number 13 and 14
Suggestion to speed up play:
Cut the grass shorter in the rough ( almost 6 inches long some place ). We lost 2 balls in there and spent too much time looking for balls.
Excellent Value For Money
We paid $27 for a walking rate at 3.27 p.m., which is a fabulous deal for a course that is regularly $59. As an additional bonus, they gave us a power cart!!! This may have been a misunderstanding about the rate we'd booked, but that's fine.
The course was almost empty at that time of day, so we got around very quickly, and rarely say anybody else, let alone having to wait. The course condition was fair, but considering it was very early in the season, I guess it was acceptable. The greens needed cutting and rolling as they were very slow.
Overall, great weather, a fast round, super value, and a score only 3 shots off my best of LY, add up to a great round!!
My experience
Above par experience, I definitely wil go back for another tee
Great
Very nice green
I like course and green's so good
But tee box is bad a few course.
Over priced
Love the course. Played the old. To bad so terribly over priced. Had heard bad things about the people but had yet to experience it, until now. Real bad attitude. Have to assume the ownership of this club does not need the customers. Very scenic, nice holes, not overly challenging. Nice experience once you leave the club house. Will, continue to play when ever I can get a deal.
overpriced
Some greens are not in good shape, play is slow due to members and marshalls do not speed them up.More challenging courses for better price.
A nice course .
Overall a very nice course . They had recently aerated all the greens so they were a little rough and there were lots of leaves on the ground but such is the nature of golf in Ontario this time of year .
good for old folks; nice walk
user friendly; challenging for someone who plays bogey golf. Good for seniors.
important to drive in the fairway
From the back tee blocks, the Old Course is a great challenge. I had to think through hole strategy and club selection carefully. For me, up and down skills were a must. The greens mid to fast. No lie surprises. Some fairways from back tees were tight. A miss will cost you a stroke getting out of the trees. Great fun I'll play it again.
Good "old school" course with excellent practice facility.
I am biased towards this course as I learned from one of their pros. It was also one of the first courses I played. It is a course that can be enjoyed by players of all abilities. Variety of tee boxes to challenge everyone. Challenging holes await. Course is well maintained and greens are always in good order. You will not be disappointed. The facility offers one of the best warm -up/ practice facilities this side of Legends on Niagara. Good value for the money.
Nice par 71
Nice par 71 course. A few tough tee shots but the greens are mostly open. Good course when you can find a deal but full rates are a little overpriced.
