Tyandaga Golf Course
About
Tyandaga Golf Course is located in the heart of Burlington surrounded by the rugged beauty of the escarpment that encloses it. The municipal course is popular for its player-friendly layout. It has a gentle nature but it does offer a fair amount of challenges. Bunkers are strategically situated along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few ponds and a meandering stream that comes into play on several holes. One of the most difficult holes is the par-3 ninth, which features hazards along the entire right side from tee to green. It is a beastly 168 yards but par is possible. The back nine finishes with a strong hole as well. Tyandaga's tricky final hole has out-of-bounds down the right side but there is ample room down the left side for the tee shot. The deep green is sloped front to back with a bunker to the front right.

Pace of play
Course has a nice layout with some challenging holes. Course was in pretty good shape. Two many par 3’s now as course has shortened two holes. Also pace of play very slow. Two many twosomes and people hitting multiple balls off every tee box.

Not worth it
Could not finish after 6 hours. No marshals whatsoever. Not worthy.

Wet and muddy, I am lucky I have great shoes for these conditions. Maybe summer conditions are nicer...

Good Value
The course was fine. There were definitely some areas that need improvement, some of the tee boxes were uneven and some really needed the grass cut. There was at least one tee box that was like teeing your ball up in the rough. One ladies tee was literally in the rough, no tee box to be seen. A few of the holes have been shortened I can only assume because of balls hitting homes that are very close to the course. The 18th is a waste of space. You have to walk pretty well a par 5 before getting to the final tee box, the hole is then only a par 3. Again I am presuming because of the potential to damage homes. Perhaps investing in some netting along the homes would allow for the course to play longer. This course has a par 69, of all the land was utilized it could easily be a par 71 or 72. The value was very good as we paid $40 each. The pro shop said that it was because power carts were not allowed yet. Suited us just fine we were walking anyway. Pace of play was a little slow. Took 4.5 hours to complete 18 holes. That being said it poured rain for 3-4 holes slowing things down but the pace seemed to pick up after the rain let up. I would return for the $40.
Should not have been opened
We've had several days of rain recently and the course was over saturated with water. Any low lying fairways were basically like a muddy bog. As a result of this, there was a high risk of sliding down a hill.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
Shame
Cutting down 2 par fours and turning them into par threes is a death blow dealt to this once wonderful golf course. Please change it back.

Spring Rates
got on for $48 included cart and tax and service charges. greens were not cut down so they were fair compared to the stupid fast on certain holes. hole 18 roped off and turned into a par 3 in April 2023. Brok3 90 with an asterict
Great track for the price!
Run by the city, staff was great, pricing is good, challenging fairways!!!
Course was o.k.
They shortened the course to 5000 yards to accommodate the houses in close proximity to the fairways. Layout not what it used to be. Greens and fairways were excellent. Just too short.
