Tyandaga Golf Course
About
Tyandaga Golf Course is located in the heart of Burlington surrounded by the rugged beauty of the escarpment that encloses it. The municipal course is popular for its player-friendly layout. It has a gentle nature but it does offer a fair amount of challenges. Bunkers are strategically situated along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few ponds and a meandering stream that comes into play on several holes. One of the most difficult holes is the par-3 ninth, which features hazards along the entire right side from tee to green. It is a beastly 168 yards but par is possible. The back nine finishes with a strong hole as well. Tyandaga's tricky final hole has out-of-bounds down the right side but there is ample room down the left side for the tee shot. The deep green is sloped front to back with a bunker to the front right.

Worst course ever. Save your money and play elsewhere
This was hands down the worst golf course experience we’ve ever had. The course was in absolutely awful shape — tall grass everywhere, weeds growing all over the fairways, and bunkers that looked like they hadn’t been maintained in weeks. It felt more like playing in an overgrown field than an actual golf course. Completely unacceptable, especially for the price they charge.
To make matters worse, the marshals were extremely rude. They came around aggressively accusing us of playing too slowly — even though there were clearly multiple groups ahead of us holding everyone up. It was insulting and completely unnecessary. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, they made us feel rushed and disrespected.
The entire experience was unpleasant from start to finish. The owner should be ashamed of the state this course is in and the way staff treat paying customers. We will never return and strongly advise others to stay far away. There are plenty of other courses in the area that are far better maintained and actually treat players with courtesy. Total disappointment.
Tyandaga rocks
Played yesterday early afternoon. Booking and check in all went well. Staff at the Pro shop desk were helpful. The course was busy, sometimes my group was on a tee, we could see a group 200 yards ahead and a third group in the green. Pace was a bit slow.
The course was in good shape. It's a fairly long and hilly course so I'm glad I had a cart!
I'd go again.
Tyandaga Rocks.
Very slow pace of play
Pace of play was incredibly slow. Already 10-15 behind off the first tee. Over 2.5 hours for 9 holes. Sending out fivesomes on a Sunday morning was ridiculous. Changing hole 2 for a Par 5 to a par 3 was bizarre. Had to quit after 11.
Need to mow/maintain the rough - unkept
Rough was very high and unkept. 3 to 4 inches high and full of 5-6" tall dandelions along edge of fairways. Roll off fairway even a foot it was lost 80% of time. Balls not visible unless stepped on or stand directly over. Sure we saved $25 verses Hidden Lake, Millcroft, Carlyle, Mount Nemo....but cost more on lost balls and frustration. Should maintain rough 1.5 to 2.5" max. I'm good with extreme rough and long fescue as a penalty for bad shots but need a transition of mowed rough next to the fairway before hitting extreme rough.
Tyandaga Hot Deal
This is a touch track, but I love the changes they've made by making the 2nd hole the 18th. It is a tough hole to have so early in the round. There are a lot of weeds in the rough, but the fairways are fine. Also the greens are hard and slow, which makes it hard to stick them and tough to putt on. That will improve of course, but it seemed fairly strange. Great value for a Burlington course.
Nice warm up course at beginning of the season
The pace was good. It was not busy and we got the GP deal so price was good. The course layout was okay but it is a hacker course. The greens were rough and some holes were under construction. Still I enjoyed it. The starter was nice and let is out early.
Good Public golf course!
4 star.
Season is just starting and the course is in good condition already.
7 Par 3’s Says It All
This once decent municipal course has been ruined by some neighbours around the perimeter apparently forcing the course to increase the distance to their properties. The layout is now terrible, with seven par threes.
Moderate length but tricky
The course has become shorter as two par 4s are now par 3s. It was very green and lush but some cart paths are rough and tumble. No automatic pars here as some greens are sloping.
Great course for a muni
All in all it was a smooth round. Biggest takeaway is friendly staff and great landscaping/conditions.
