Twin Creeks Golf Course
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the Golf Club at Twin Creeks (named after the two creeks that run through the course) to integrate with five strategically placed lakes that come into play. For the most part, the fairways here are generous, rolling peacefully toward large, undulating greens. Hole 11 is one of the best, a 383-yard par 4 with trees lining the fairway and a difficult green guarded by several giant pecan trees. No. 17, a 409-yarder with water on the right, requires a monster drive to carry the full body of water. The best play is to aim left even though the approach will be a bit longer. Golf Digest has rated Twin Creeks as high as 10th for the "Best Public Course" in Texas.

Easy birdie putt Photo submitted by ttaxmaster on 06/12/2014
Slow Pace and Management didn't care
We had a 11:37 tee time on a Friday. We played the first hole in 8 minutes and no one was in front of us. We round the corner to the very next hole and there are 4 groups on the hole, 3 of them waiting to tee off. We played the next 2 holes in 53 minutes. We called the clubhouse to let them know about the problem on the course along with the group in front of us calling as well. They sent a marshal out about 30 minutes later and all he could say is to group up in 3s or 4s. He didn't want to admit that there as a problem of 4-5 groups on every hole. We had already grouped up with a single behind us so his solution was useless. No one wanted to admit there was a problem which is probably part of the problem to begin with. I would love to play this course more often because it is close to my house, but unfortunately, there are way too many options that are better now. Stay away form this course unless you plan on 5-6 hour rounds regularly.
It have already told three of my friends about the course. I had a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be coming back soon.
SLOW
We had a 9:30 tee time and it was already backed up 30 minutes. From there, it took us nearly 3.5 hours to play 9 holes. We stopped at the turn and asked for a rain check. It’s a super pretty course and fun, but go with the first tee time of the day.
Great time
Course is in good shape and shot my best round ever, so I might be biased. Greens putted true, held decently. Pace was decent after getting through some slower groups.
Excellent courses
Everything done very good.
Staf was very friendly and Greens was little slow rolls due to the warm weathers?
We enjoyed round of Golf.
Ridiculously slow pace.
I have always enjoyed thus course, and it was in much better shape than the last time I played it a few years ago. The problem was the pace of play. More than once we got to a tee box waiting on the two groups in front of us to tee off so we could play.
Nice but expensive
Course is in great shape but probably won’t come back until I get a better deal. Paid $60
No Marshals
Decent layout. There’s a bridge they’ve never repaired which means you always start on 9, weird. There are no Marshalls or starters, at least during the week, so things can get out of sorts fast.
Gas carts, so you’ll hear those all day.
But if you get the right price it’s a solid value.
Nice course
The bridge was being repaired, but the course was in great shape. The starter was great and and made us feel welcome.
fast greens, slow play
The course was in decent condition with all the rain.
All play is starting on hole #9, then proceeding to the back nine, then the front holes 1-8. A little confusing at the start, but they had a bridge out between holes 8-9 and that's how they solved for it.
No sand on the carts to repair fairway divots. Lots of roll on the fairways. Rough/1st cut is non-existent,and a lot of crazy bounces off the hills, especially bordering the edges of the fairway to make your ball flirt with the OB stakes. The greens were surprisingly fast given all the recent rain we've had, while at the same time, holding approach shots.
HOWEVER...
A 2-some jumped in front of us @ the beginning, lied to the starter and told him he was me, and they went of early. Unfortunately, we caught up to them about the 3rd hole. The 2-some became a 4-some, then a 5-some of guys playing off both the blue and white tees. WE WAITED EVERY SHOT...
After the turn from the back nine to #1, they finally split back into a 3-some (from the blues) and a 2-some (from the whites). The guys playing off the whites waited until the group in front of t hem was on the green to tee off - even on the par 5's.
Speaking of teed off, there were AT LEAST 2 holes open in front of them (that I could see & verify - most likely more!)
Then, to cap it all off, a couple of kids, fishing poles in hand, walked back and forth along the cart path on the last hole (#8) in front of the tee boxes and the pond along the left side of the fairway and gave us some gestures when we shouted "fore" to alert them we were ready to hit. We reported them to the pro shop after play.
Overall, a decent value, but with a marshal on the course speeding up play, we could have finished at least an hour earlier. Because of that, taking this course off our list for the summer, may try back again after Labor Day.
Scary Reviews
So I booked this round being scared of the reviews but decided what the heck it’s an Arnold Palmer design. First off, the course is in good shape and I had no issues aside from some bunkers being very fluffy and packed with sand. A little overkill but nothing too major. The greens rolled amazingly well and while there really wasn’t much rough there was a few tricky lies encountered. Pace of play is the major issue here. My group made it around in a little over 4.5 hours, but there were a lot of groups out and you have to start on hole 9 which really makes pace of play get off to a rough start. I probably won’t be back to this course for awhile due to that, but I really enjoyed he layout and the quick, true rolling greens.
Room for improvement
Course was in good shape...pro shop was less than helpful. Ball was picked up during round by grounds crew. Also, grrounds crew was working on back nine hole and were rude, talking in our swings, walking in front of our shots. We yelled to get their attention.
