Grand Valley Golf Course

About
Located in Cambridge, Grand Valley Golf Course has become an area favorite since opening in 1982. Each of the 18 holes has its own unique character that combine to offer something for every golfer. The front nine of the course features narrow, tree-lined fairways and challenging greens that are difficult to read. Right away, golfers are forced to choose accuracy over distance since straying from the fairways could result in an extremely difficult lie. Golfers will be able to make up for this on the back nine where long hitters have the opportunity to showcase their skills. These holes open up a bit more and feature wider fairways. Distance off the tees will be met with great rewards at Grand Valley Golf Course.

good starter course!
This is a course that is built for a person learning the game and needs lots of practice.
Grand Valley 10-2-2023
very tight and short course, very few markers hole to hole, recently aerated
Thanks for letting us play your course
Great for the Price!
This course is fairly easy. I played this with a fairly new golfer and there were only a few holes where you can lose balls, basically the ones that are around the perimeter. Otherwise the holes are fairly close together.
Signage isn't great when it comes to navigation at times. Course conditions were ok. Unfortunately the greens this time around were really bad. The best way to describe them would be bumpy. Not from divots just the grass itself. I still hit some putts today but it made it much more difficult and it left me feeling like a couple more could have dropped. There were times where the ball visibly either bounced or skipped off a tuft and went off the line.
15th tee-box was atrocious, thankfully you're definitely placing a tee but it just seemed slightly forgotten about.
For a course that offers great deals all the time it's a good one to get out and play without breaking the bank.
Grand Valley 10-2-23
very tight and really a short course, little signage for directions, recently aerated made putting difficult. Thank you for allowing us to try out this course
Grand valley 10-2-23
Very short and tight, very little signage, you guessed where the next hole/tee was. Just aerated
Sorry won't be back here, but thank you for letting us play a round
Grand Valley 10-2-23
Very short course, very tight, need signs for guidance to next tees, you fly blind, even to the 10th tee. Gained knowledge about short yardage courses like this. Club house was very clean.
Thanks for allowing us to play here.
Greens needed lovin’
Overall the course offers its challenges to all levels of players. Understanding the time of year and that the greens were partially aerated , they were bumpy and patchy in spots which made reading and executing putts much more difficult than they should be. It was a beautiful day and the scenery is quite nice and as mentioned with a little lovin’ the greens would bring this course up several notches.
Putting greens brutal
The fairways and the tee boxes were decent. The putting greens were the worst I’ve ever played on my entire golf life of 30 years.
Quality is lower every time
This course is right around the corner from me so I frequently will get out to play solo here when my other partners aren't available. No one expects perfection from GV but this season has been brutal for course conditions. They are upgrading the clubhouse (albeit slowly), and it's clear that there isn't a budget for course upkeep. Tee boxes have deteriorated to the point you can barely get a tee in the ground and the ground is covered in rocks. I saw some sparks fly off the bottom of my club more than once. Fairway grass isn't the worst, but it's cut quite long, just as long as the rough at other courses.
The worst part was the greens, however. Whoever had most recently aerated and dressed the greens, did so using equipment with treaded tires and totally tore everything up. Between the excessive sand and torn surfaces, putting was impossible. I just can't see how someone who works at a golf course would walk away from a job like that and say, "that's fine". Just insane.
Great place
Awesome!! Had a great time. Great staff, food and time.
Wookkk
Friendly Bunch
The course is short and fairly straight forward. The first 9 you contend with tree lined holes but the back is straight up and down and wide open. I don’t remember any bunkers on the course. A few holes with a little water but not a huge factor. The greens were slow to slower. Grass longer than usual. The staff and food is excellent.
Course is very basic, best for beginners
No sand traps, no paved cart paths, very bumpy for carts, fairways were very mediocre a few holes fairway just looked like someone's backyard cut grass. Some of the tee decks were all dirt. Wasn't overall impressed with the course for the price. I think for $10-20 less it would be justified for course conditions but much nicer courses in the area for comparable prices. Staff and other golfers were friendly and helpful which was good. Main issues were just courses conditions. Carts were also very slow and struggle going up inclines with 2 guys around the 200lb weight..
