Cranberry Golf Course
About
Cranberry Golf Course was carved from the picturesque landscape of southern Georgian Bay and has the distinction of being Canada’s first Audubon Society-certified golf course. There is some slight undulation in the bent grass fairways but overall the terrain is flat, making it accessible for beginners since there are no dramatic elevation changes or severely uneven lies. The front nine has numerous water hazards and plays a bit longer than the back nine due to a handful of lengthy par 5s. Cranberry Golf Course's back nine plays shorter and dryer but there are difficult doglegs and several large, strategically placed sand traps. There are also grass bunkers and contouring around the greens for added challenge.

Awful experience. First the starter pushed a single in front of us and let him play on his own. Later I was told by the starter that "he works here". Clearly this golf course does not respect tee time and put their staff free round ahead of scheduled and purchased tee times. Will not return nor recommending cranberry.
Enjoyable day
We arrived at the course and no one was there to assist with the bag drop. You're on your own to get your bag. The pro shop payment process was fine but not overly friendly. The service level is below par in my mind. We made our way outside and were paired up with another twosome and enjoyed their company. The course was in nice condition. Unfortunately the players ahead of us did not feel the need to repair their ball marks. The course is reasonably challenging and fun to play. I'd recommend it if you're in the Collingwood area.
Nice resort course
I enjoyed playing this course, played twighlight and did not see anyone on the course until the 15th hole. Course is in good shape tee to green - both sand traps and greens is very good shape.
Very lush fairways and greens
I very much like this course. Not too easy, not to difficult, perfect for my game. We enjoyed our game
Geat course for any golfer
Great course with helpful staff, conditions are great. Greens and Fairways are really good conditions that is for sure.
Club house could use some updates but otherwise love the course and by booking on line with
Golf Now we got very good value for our money.
We had a great game no hold ups staff had all paper work ready when we arrived.
.
Fun Day and Great Staff
My cousin and I went out to play 18 but cut it short due to an injury. We did get in the front 9. We had a fun time and have nothing to say but great things about the staff. From the check in, to Bob the starter, to the girls in the bar who came out quickly with an ice pack. The pace was slowed a bit by the group in front of us. We noticed as we went back to the clubhouse that the course was wide open in front of them. Great conditioned course.
Soft condition
The course condition was very soft due to poor drainage in quite a few spots, especially the greens which were very spongy.
We saw a deer on the hole #8 fairway.
very convenient from my condo
wi8ll play this course again
many challenging holes
very pleasant and helpful staff
Excellent !
It is a lengthy walk, but enjoyed it.
Greens are in good shape.
Pin placement on a couple of holes was very tough.
Bunker sand was hard, maybe due to extreme rain storm day before.
Did not feel rushed at any time
About 3.75 hours for the round, good pace
All in all, very nice
want a good days golf
Well worth the money, and a good day , lots of hubby/wife players out there, so not a hard day on the marriage, I recommend it.
I'll be back!
Great course if yu can keep it in the fairway...otherwise bring a lot of balls!
Course has large inviting greens!
Excellent golf course. Challenging especially when wind picks up. Well laid out. Greeted warmly by staff at pro-shop, as well as starter. Bunkers well maintained; tee boxes level and in excellent condition. Greens beautiful.
A 'Resort Course' at its Best
Even though Cranberry is a resort course, it is designed and maintained and plays as good as pretty much any other course and is not overly crowded. The course is always in great condition, and the difficulty level is not overwhelming -- play well and you can score well. I highly recommend playing here.
Good Value
The areas around the greens were in need of some repair, the bunkers were too hard packed and the greens a bit inconsistent, but overall good value and a fun course. Staff is excellent.
friendly , fun , four star
Played on a sunny Thursday afternoon at approx. 1:30 pm . Showed up as a single and went to the range to hit some balls . Range and putting green were included and in very good condition .
Was offered a chance to go out 30 minutes earlier than my booked time ... with a member ... thanks to a sharp employee in the shop . It was a nice to see staff paying attention to detail and offering great customer service .
Playing with a member was a great break as he offered up a lot of " local knowledge " but the course is for the most part straightforward . There are a few doglegs etc where his info came in handy but if you just - hit it where you can see it - ie don't try to be a hero - you will be fine .
Course was in very good condition despite the two days of rain we just had . There was no casual water in play and the cart rule was 90 * but likely could have been scatter . Nice to see them protect the course but still allow 90 * to speed play along .
Greens were great , no winter kill , patches etc and holding quite well . They were a little slow but that was likely done to protect them as it is still early - we have had a late spring . Most importantly - they ran smooth and true .
Saw the marshal twice and the beverage cart at least 4 times so all was good there .
Play ran along smoothly and a slower threesome allowed us through after just a couple of holes - maybe just good manners - maybe the marshall - either way good to see proper etiquette .
All staff i encountered were friendly and knowledgable with respect to their jobs / golf etiquette and made the day enjoyable .
The club house is also a friendly place for a pint or two after your round and they had live entertainment the day i was there .
I would recommend Cranberry Golf Course to any and all golfers . It has 4 tee option on each hole and the holes themselves are varied enough to keep you interested .
Just to prove this last point , i played with my 100 year old hickory shafted clubs from the white tees and shot 78 while my 60+ year old playing partner used his modern clubs from the same tees and shot similar . We could have gone back one or even two sets of tees and made it anywhere from difficult to very very tough .
Thanks to Head pro Myles and his great staff , i'll be back .
Excellent course
The course was in excellent shape. My only issue was with the food. You would think on Father's Day, you would have the half way hut open. Then bought sandwiches off the golf cart that were completely soaked. Other then that, everything about the course was great.
The course is easy to walk
WE arrived early and was let off early - challenging and flat course so good for walkers. Staff was very courteous - it was a good experience overall - finished in 31/2 hours. Will play there again.
Great Value
Course was in great shape and staff was very friendly. Weather was iffy so we were able to get on as a couple and not get paired up, pace was great, we got through in 3 hours. Very enjoyable afternoon. Can't beat the value we got at the price on Golf Now.
Greens were just cut and still too slow
The driving range does not have a club-cleaner and this has been brought to their attention on many occasions. It took the pro shop attendant 10 minutes to coordinate their computer software program with my golfnow. com purchase.
Great excuse for a walk in the park!
Flat course, not many hazards, if in the sand it's easy to get out, good greens and surprisingly hardly any winter damage.
