Cranberry Golf Course
About
Cranberry Golf Course was carved from the picturesque landscape of southern Georgian Bay and has the distinction of being Canada’s first Audubon Society-certified golf course. There is some slight undulation in the bent grass fairways but overall the terrain is flat, making it accessible for beginners since there are no dramatic elevation changes or severely uneven lies. The front nine has numerous water hazards and plays a bit longer than the back nine due to a handful of lengthy par 5s. Cranberry Golf Course's back nine plays shorter and dryer but there are difficult doglegs and several large, strategically placed sand traps. There are also grass bunkers and contouring around the greens for added challenge.

Too slow to play in the afternoon
Course is too busy and too many slow players.
There is no marshall to manage the pace.
Paid 18 holes with the cart. Walked and only played 13 instead.
What a nice course to play.
I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this course is. The landing areas are fair and the greens were nice to putt on, although they don't spin much, but considering it is barely May I can't complain. I would recommend this course to anyone.
end of season
As this course is not well drained, after significant rain its condition is compromised. Greens were excellent fairways soggy.
It reminds me of Florida, flat with interesting traps and water hazards. The back nine is very beautiful!
A yardage book would be of great help.
If the weather had been as good as the course..
Sun, cloud, rain, high winds. We had it all. Course was excellent for October in Central Ontario. Greens were fast and lots of subtle contours. Hardly a ball mark. Course was well manicured, paths and tees were clean and surroundings were nice fall colours. Staff (Ron the starter) was great. Carts were clean and well stocked with ball washers and divot replacement earth. It was cart path only due to recent rain, so all in all just under 4 hours was great. Large landinding areas, but if you can't see your drive land, be ready to rack another. Straight here is the name if the game. Glad we went, inspite of the weather.. . all in all a great day at Cranberry.
Picture perfect golf!!!
Several picturesque holes, added to the enjoyment of playing this course. Being a single I was let through on many holes which was great and added to my speed of play. Playing from the back tees was fun but I would suggest it only for the straight long ball hitters because water does come into play.
Terrific greens - challenging course
The overall experience was well above expectations. After reading reviews about slow greens I was surprised to find true and reasonably fast greens. In fact all four of us commented that they really enjoyed the challenge of the course from the back tees and the very good conditions. We would definitely come back.
Good Course
A nice course to play. Fairly easy. Canada Geese left their "calling cards" on many fairways and greens. Club house facilities minimal and unattractive..
Flat but challenging
Terrain was busy with bunkers and water yet the course is quite flat. Slow group ahead of us hitting three balls off the tee were dealt with swiftly by marshal, then pace was great.
Love the course and the area
The first nine with my group was terrible but after that it was an amazing game . Very modest course with some difficult , challenging runways
Friendly staff
pro shop staff, starter, ranger - all were super friendly & helpful.
This course is suitable for beginners through low handicappers & plays very differently depending upon the tee blocks you choose.
My only complaint pertains to a personal preference. I'm not a fan of par 3s less than 120 yards, & I think there were 3 of them from the white tees. # 16 had an odd layout as well - with a pond & knoll in front of the green making it seem like a hard dogleg inside of 50 yards.
Resort courses charge more than they should but I think the deal we got through golfnow.com brought the price into a more reasonable range.
Why don't people that play these courses bother to fix their ball marks?
Cranberry Golf
We had a great day the course was in great over all condition but it was wet in places Early morning tee times are the way to go (7:18am). For my game it was a bit long but this is a definite recommend
Better Player Flow
We were a foursome with two beginner golfers but we were very conscientious at our pacing. We graciously allowed two groups of two golfers play through but quickly found another two golfers fast on our heels. In order to not feel this sense of urgency to play, we skipped a hole but yet found another two different players quickly behind us. We gathered as it was approaching 6:30 that perhaps these golfers were skipping holes to finish quicker. Needless to say, we only played 15 holes as we were becoming really frustrated at feeling rushed. I think part of the problem is that the groups of two players should have been playing as foursomes or more time allowed between a group of four and groups of two. For our beginner players it was discouraging and set a really negative tone for the afternoon.
Great conditions
I enjoyed my round! Greens in great shape. Only issue was not enough sand in some bunkers.
Northyorker
Awful experience. First the starter pushed a single in front of us and let him play on his own. Later I was told by the starter that "he works here". Clearly this golf course does not respect tee time and put their staff free round ahead of scheduled and purchased tee times. Will not return nor recommending cranberry.
Enjoyable day
We arrived at the course and no one was there to assist with the bag drop. You're on your own to get your bag. The pro shop payment process was fine but not overly friendly. The service level is below par in my mind. We made our way outside and were paired up with another twosome and enjoyed their company. The course was in nice condition. Unfortunately the players ahead of us did not feel the need to repair their ball marks. The course is reasonably challenging and fun to play. I'd recommend it if you're in the Collingwood area.
Nice resort course
I enjoyed playing this course, played twighlight and did not see anyone on the course until the 15th hole. Course is in good shape tee to green - both sand traps and greens is very good shape.
Very lush fairways and greens
I very much like this course. Not too easy, not to difficult, perfect for my game. We enjoyed our game
Geat course for any golfer
Great course with helpful staff, conditions are great. Greens and Fairways are really good conditions that is for sure.
Club house could use some updates but otherwise love the course and by booking on line with
Golf Now we got very good value for our money.
We had a great game no hold ups staff had all paper work ready when we arrived.
.
Fun Day and Great Staff
My cousin and I went out to play 18 but cut it short due to an injury. We did get in the front 9. We had a fun time and have nothing to say but great things about the staff. From the check in, to Bob the starter, to the girls in the bar who came out quickly with an ice pack. The pace was slowed a bit by the group in front of us. We noticed as we went back to the clubhouse that the course was wide open in front of them. Great conditioned course.
Soft condition
The course condition was very soft due to poor drainage in quite a few spots, especially the greens which were very spongy.
We saw a deer on the hole #8 fairway.
