About
Whitetail Golf Club enjoys a landscape of rolling hills covered with mature trees, creeks, and ponds. Originally opened as a short nine-hole course, the layout was transformed into an 18-hole championship design in 2004. The update added a level of challenge to an already playable golf course. The first five holes are new, as are the last four. The layout has tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy and there are two tricky carries over water on the opening hole and the 17th. Both of these are par 3s that feature significant greenside bunkering that will test the iron play of even the most seasoned golfers. Whitetail Golf Club's sixth and 14th are two par 4s from the original nine that are particularly memorable since they play much longer than the indicated yardage.

Round cancellation and follow-up
Unfortunately I had to cancel my round. I did not see a way to cancel the round onilne; so I called the course to cancel. I did not receive a cancellation notice via e-mail, but did continue to receive other e-mails, including a reminder before the scheduled time and a "thank you" for playing. This disconnect was a bit concerning because I did not want. my credit card to be charged although I had cancelled my round before the 24-hour deadline. I recommend that the on-line process be adjusted to better facilitate cancellations and follow-up.
Excellent experience
I played mid afternoon and we sailed to a 3.5 hr round. Pace was amazing and the course wa challenging and fun. I would recommend this course to anyone.

The course always plays nicely. Good mix of holes for everyone. Risk rewards to be had out there.
Didnt get to finsh back 9 as I sprained my ankle looking for a friends ball off the fairway on #10.
Whitetail is great
Played early in the season. Greens were fine for this time of year. Pace of play was great——-walked the course in 3:10. Had a great time!

Staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately greens had been punched recently, which in retrospect given the time of year we should probably have anticipated, however lead to some unpredictable putts.
Pace of play was disappointing, 4 & half hours for a threesome, who always play "ready golf" but I respect that not all groups play the same way.
Regardless, I strongly encourage everyone to make the drive to WhiteTail to discover a hidden gem in the Ottawa valley - just not all at once!
