Tee boxes attention
Have played this course many many times love the course fairways were in great shape greens in great shape the only drawback were most if not all the tee boxes need major attention.. For sure I’ll play here again.
Sandy Green
There were a lot of sandy on the greens making them more of a sand trap than a putting green!
However, the staff is super friendly whom can accommodate my time change on the spot.
Got on the first tee-off time to finish within 3 hours.
Improvements at RW
Was there about a month before this visit and the course has progressed very nicely in May. Nice Effort had been made to remove much of the Goose crap from the greens. The greens were in very good condition and rolling nicely...Fairways have also filled in for the most part. # 9 still not fully open. I booked an early aft. tee time and showed up about 25 minutes prior. When I checked in I got a good news and bad news story. The bad news ..the morning shotgun which had booked 80 players showed up with 120 and was late. The good - while it would be slow to start as we trailed the final scramble group, once they finished on 5 we would have the course to ourselves. We got off 45 minutes late but played in 4 hours, and thats not usual at RW. Thanks to the golf shop that provided a beverage during our delay.
slow pace
on the slow side group in front playing blue
should of been white took over 5 hours to play
Great shape, greens rolled beautifully lots of water. This course will test your golf management,
Excellent course
Don’t get me wrong course was in excellent condition but I won’t pay $100.00 to play there I got a great deal on your app $75.00 with a cart now that’s reasonable because to have drink or two and some food your looking $30.00 at least . So like I said everything is going up prices but golf is expensive. Staff where great but the Marshall ‘s just didn’t do anything with the foursome in front of us was extremely slow pace .
Mid may
Course conditions were good considering we had snow a few weeks ago. 3 or 4 tee boxes were closed which are the same ones rhat were closed late last year.. Pace of play was a dismal over 5 hours. Fairways were beat up. Not worth in anyway 110 plus tax plus fees in anyway. Only plus was the marshals didn't push us and rightfully so.
Early season
Always best to play early before the corporate guys come out with clients in the afternoon working on a couple of holes which should be cleaned up later this season
As expected
Some morning tee times were sold before an afternoon shotgun. Arrived at starter hut 30 minutes before tee time booked on line, after checking in at golf shop and being handed a slip for the starter. Starter told me my tee I quoted did not exist. Looked at the slip and said I guess you are right...Then said.. wait this is for yesterday.. I said thats what I was just given in golf shop. He gets on the radio and suddenly all is well. He said go to the tee. I told him I still need to stretch and putt as my time is 25 minutes away. Grumbles. Ended up teeing off 15 minutes after my time. After the starter, all as expected...Fair condition for this time of year. Royal woodbine is always wet and never disappoints
