I haven’t played this course for years. I think the condition of the course is poor. Perhaps it is just the distraction of people walking, riding bikes that directs my feeling. Finding directions from one hole to another was not evident.
Good fun, some challenging holes
Sprinklers were working, that’s good, course was in reasonable condition considering the heat we’ve had, greens were better than good, rolling well, golfers need to repair their ball marks! Off the fairways it was fast and firm. I hadn’t played here for a while, memories of being a junior here.
If I had paid more than 35$ I’d be disappointed
Not thrilled with the layout of the course overall: dangerous at times as you had paths to the tee boxes crossing in front of greens, teeing off with joggers and cyclists consistently passing through the trail On hole 16 etc.
Very dry, which was understandable given the heat conditions.
Poor pace of play unfortunately, front 9 took almost 3 hours.
If I had paid more for the round, I would have been disappointed.
Very Cost Effective
There are definitely a few goofy holes here, and the layout can be a little confusing at times (be sure to use the scorecard to help navigate your way between holes), but for what you are paying, it's pretty tough to beat the value here - I would be more than happy to play here again.
Double booked and over priced for the course condition
My tee time was double booked with another booking which caused me to rush and then wait at next hole. Tee conditions were not to par as well.
Terrible experience
On July 23 I had a 1235 tee time. After being told there was no bag drop I was forced to carry my clubs from the back of the parking lot all the way down to the clubhouse with a bad back. Meanwhile there were 8 employees standing at the clubhouse doing absolutely nothing, and 2 more sitting under a tent also doing absolutely nothing. The starter was so confused about what was going on he didn't even give me a scorecard and when I asked he gave me the wrong one. When I had to do into the clubhouse to pay for a cart I had to walk within 2 meters of all 8 employees blocking the entrance to the clubhouse
When i finally got to golfing it took 2.5 hours to play the front 9 holes on the Martin. During which time we did not see a cart girl, marshall of any other city employee on the golf course. We actually had 2 guys jump in behind us play one hole and then take off. I left after 9 holes.
That was everything golf related. Now I'd like to speak about my treatment while dealing with city employees
I booked 2 tee times on golf now and my partner had an emergency and could not play. I asked if it would be possible to take a cart in place of the other golfers green fee that I had already paid for. I was told no the city wasn't making money so they couldn't do it. Although the interaction was brief. Speaking to what seemed to be the boss(short guy dark Ray-Ban sunglasses. Zero communication skills). It was upsetting. I didn't mind paying the extra $18 for the cart I did mind the way I was spoken to and treated by this guy.
I golf to relax and I was stressed out after dealing only 10 minutes with your employees.
Way overcrowded
Left after 9 holes because it took 2.5 hours to play the front. No cart girl. No marshall driving the course. We had 2 guys jump from another hole right behind us for a hole and off they went to another one. The funny part is there were literally 10 employees standing at the proshop doing nothing.
