Kings Forest - A municipal course like no other
If you are in Hamilton area living or visiting this golf course is a must play..
One of the finest municipal tracks in the country.
Greens rolling great and overall conditions despite being wet today are excellent.
Play it. You won’t regret it.
Enough said.
Grear Hamilton landmark
Beautiful nature with golf course like walking track.
Wet
Given the weather we’ve been having it was expected that the course would be wet. However, it was saturated, rough extremely long and thick, standing water throughout the front 9.(back 9 was a little better). This is really a hidden gem of a golf course. Would recommend holding off to play it when we get some dryer conditions. Some things to consider for the people who run the course. Desperately need to upgrade, pull carts (carts are from the 90’s, rusty and dusty) upgrade power carts, improve drainage of the course.
No power cart
There are no power cart is available when we got there. After we negotiation, they given us pull carts
Fall at Kings Forest
A day where it finally decided not to rain over the last 2 weeks. Such a beautiful course in the autumn. I certainly prefer to golf this hidden gem in the fall because of the scenery. When we golf here you forget that you are inside the city. Excellent job by the city to keep this course in the shape it was in the first week of November with all the rain we have been having. Goes to show the improvements that were made back in 2012 to the drainage and the realignment of the red hill creek. If you haven't gotten out to Kings Forest and you live in the area. Do yourself a favour and get out.
Great layout & friendly
Course setup very challenging, enjoyed round even though did not play well.staff very friendly will play again
Nice views, good wether during the 18 holes playing. Overall conditions of fairways, greens and bunkers are good considering seasonality.
Great course , great staff
Course is truly a great course . The greens , fairways are in great shape. Layout is good.
No dumb holes like some courses .
This course is a gem for the Hamilton area.
Staff are very friendly.
Good condition late in season
Enjoyable course in good condition for end of season. Slower pace of play today - kinda backed up. Challenging layout. Recommended.
Great course!
Kings Forrest is always a treat to play. From check-in, that staff were friendly. We putted around for a little bit before our tee time. Large putting area---didn't notice a place to chip.
Tee boxes were a little banged up, but it is the near the end of the season so it's understandable. I did manage to slip twice when teeing off (wearing golf shoes).
Greens were slow and a little long which is rare--again, I attribute this to nearing the end of the season.
I love the challenge of this course and bunkers protecting some of the greens--great opportunity to get out the 60.
The beer cart came around often, a nice touch!
Overall fairways were in good condition---it's a great course and extremely scenic.
Pace of play was a little slow, but when you're hitting the ball well--sometimes you have to wait for others.
I look forward to playing here again!
A Day Well Spent
Played with 3 relatives and friends. We loved the layout and the pace of play. Our only complaint were the shaggy greens which hadn't been cut or the holes moved in a day or two. That was evident. It was a little pricey for the time of year, but that said,, a day that otherwise was great.
Hidden Gem
A wonderful golf course. Very pretty. Lots of elevation changes. Very challenging but very fair.. Can’t beat it for value. I could be a member there and never be bored.
Pro Shop Staff were fabulous, super friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. If I were looking for customer service employees I would go out of myway to hire the young man and lady that looked after us.
This course was our playground as kids.
Kings Forest lower part of Albion Falls! Picturesque and fun layout! Took full 4 hrs to play but was a great day for it!!
The only downside would be the greens i felt were aerated a little to early but it early didn't have much effect the rolling . But may have played with my head. Over aĺl a very positive experience
